 1 Menex|    fathers have come from another country; but they are the children
 2 Menex|           their own land. And the country which brought them up is
 3 Menex|   praising their noble birth.~The country is worthy to be praised,
 4 Menex| respecting her. And ought not the country which the Gods praise to
 5 Menex|         proofs of motherhood in a country than in a woman, for the
 6 Menex|       arms for the defence of the country.~Thus born into the world
 7 Menex|         of their defence of their country against the invasion of
 8 Menex|     escape, he searched the whole country after this manner: his soldiers,
 9 Menex|          passed through the whole country, in order that they might
10 Menex|        joined, and devastated our country, which was very ungrateful
11 Menex|           died on behalf of their country; many and glorious things
