1 Menex|      living on the glories of Marathon and Salamis. The Menexenus
2 Menex|     from Eretria they went to Marathon with a like intention, expecting
3 Menex|    onset of the barbarians at Marathon, and chastened the pride
4 Menex|       disciples of the men of Marathon. To them, therefore, I assign
5 Menex|    and which followed that of Marathon and came nearest to it;
6 Menex| nearest to it; for the men of Marathon only showed the Hellenes
7 Menex|        And so the soldiers of Marathon and the sailors of Salamis
8 Menex|    not forget the trophies of Marathon and Salamis and Plataea;
