 1 Phaedo|             Nor can the process of generation be only a passage from living
 2 Phaedo|         Socrates cannot answer. Of generation and destruction he knows
 3 Phaedo|          really limited to his own generation:—so long as his friends
 4 Phaedo|          immortality of fame, in a generation or two, or even in a much
 5 Phaedo|   opposites is not the same as the generation of them out of each other;

 8 Phaedo|          very serious question’ of generation and destruction is really
 9 Phaedo|          science (mathematics?) of generation and destruction for which
10 Phaedo|          experienced in explaining generation and corruption; the assumption
11 Phaedo|       everything of which there is generation, and the proof will be easier.
12 Phaedo|       sleeping; and the process of generation is in the one case falling
13 Phaedo|           corresponding process of generation?~Certainly, he replied.~
14 Phaedo|            I think, as follows: If generation were in a straight line
15 Phaedo|         and there would be no more generation of them.~What do you mean?

17 Phaedo|          find out the cause of the generation or destruction or existence
