 1 Phaedo|         further admission:—that beauty is the cause of the beautiful,
 2 Phaedo|        and simple answer,’ that beauty is the cause of the beautiful;
 3 Phaedo|        the higher revelation of beauty, like the good in the Republic,
 4 Phaedo|  suffering should be clothed in beauty. The gathering of the friends
 5 Phaedo|       there is.~And an absolute beauty and absolute good?~Of course.~
 6 Phaedo|        only of equality, but of beauty, goodness, justice, holiness,
 7 Phaedo| repeating, there is an absolute beauty, and goodness, and an absolute
 8 Phaedo|       mind is so patent as that beauty, goodness, and the other
 9 Phaedo|    whether essence of equality, beauty, or anything else—are these
10 Phaedo|       that there is an absolute beauty and goodness and greatness,
11 Phaedo|   beautiful other than absolute beauty should there be such, that
12 Phaedo|         it partakes of absolute beauty—and I should say the same
13 Phaedo|       such thing is a source of beauty, I leave all that, which
14 Phaedo|   presence and participation of beauty in whatever way or manner
15 Phaedo|         stoutly contend that by beauty all beautiful things become
16 Phaedo|       may safely reply, That by beauty beautiful things become
