 1 Phaedo|    example, cold and heat are opposed; and fire, which is inseparable
 2 Phaedo|   even number, and the odd is opposed to the even. Thus we are
 3 Phaedo|       of divine perfection is opposed to experience and had better
 4 Phaedo| waking. The state of sleep is opposed to the state of waking,
 5 Phaedo|     same manner. Is not death opposed to life?~Yes.~And they are
 6 Phaedo|     or other quality which is opposed to its parts.~That would
 7 Phaedo|     will never in any case be opposed to itself?~To that we are
 8 Phaedo|    although not in themselves opposed, contain opposites; these,
 9 Phaedo|      reject the idea which is opposed to that which is contained
10 Phaedo|   number two is certainly not opposed to the number three?~It
11 Phaedo|        Yes.~And to the odd is opposed the even?~True.~Then the
12 Phaedo|      of natures which are not opposed, and yet do not admit opposites—
13 Phaedo|    given, three, although not opposed to the even, does not any
14 Phaedo| opposite, and is not strictly opposed to the odd, but nevertheless
15 Phaedo|  whole, although they are not opposed to the whole: You will agree?~
