Dialogue

 1 Phaedr|       pain. An apocryphal sacred writer says that the power which
 2 Phaedr|       reproach Lysias in being a writer; but there may be disgrace
 3 Phaedr|          as the invention of the writer may suggest, or his fancy
 4 Phaedr|          than in any other Greek writer, the local and transitory
 5 Phaedr| philosopher, but also as a great writer. He cannot abide the tricks
 6 Phaedr|      thousand years not a single writer of first-rate, or even of
 7 Phaedr|        of the present century no writer of the first class will
 8 Phaedr|           possibly, from a prose writer. Why do I say so? Why, because
 9 Phaedr|        as you might say of a bad writer—his writing is good enough
10 Phaedr|         and called him a ‘speech writer’ again and again. So that
11 Phaedr|          of metre, poet or prose writer, to teach us this?~PHAEDRUS:
