Dialogue

 1 Intro|       really the opposition of a greater or lesser amount of pleasure.
 2 Intro|       the lesser pleasure to the greater. But then comes in the illusion
 3 Intro|         the less pleasure to the greater, or the greater pain to
 4 Intro|  pleasure to the greater, or the greater pain to the less, except
 5 Intro|   destined to be overthrown by a greater still, who makes no pretensions.
 6 Intro|          is a mere exchange of a greater pleasure for a less—the
 7  Prot|         chance. For there is far greater peril in buying knowledge
 8  Prot|      listeners followed him; the greater part of them appeared to
 9  Prot|         punishment of death: but greater things, of which the ignorance
10  Prot|        my staying to hear you at greater length (for I have to be
11  Prot| correction, Socrates, involves a greater error than is contained
12  Prot|        evil, when it robs you of greater pleasures than it gives,
13  Prot|        it gives, or causes pains greater than the pleasure. If, however,
14  Prot|          good when it takes away greater pains than those which it
15  Prot|          has, or gives pleasures greater than the pains: then if
16  Prot|        to one another, either as greater and smaller, or more and
17  Prot|          but that you choose the greater evil in exchange for the
18  Prot|     which means that they become greater and smaller, and more and
19  Prot|         course take the more and greater; or if you weigh pains against
20  Prot|         in themselves equal, are greater when near, and lesser when
21  Prot|         in doing or choosing the greater, and in not doing or in
22  Prot|          man ought to choose the greater or less, either in reference
23  Prot|      more and the fewer, and the greater and the less, and the nearer
24  Prot|           no one will choose the greater when he may have the less.~
