Dialogue

 1 Intro|         Is justice just, and is holiness holy? And are justice and
 2 Intro|       holy? And are justice and holiness opposed to one another?’—‘
 3 Intro|       justice is different from holiness, and yet in a certain point
 4 Intro|        wisdom are the same. And holiness has been already admitted
 5  Prot|      justice and temperance and holiness and, in a word, manly virtue—
 6  Prot|    justice, and temperance, and holiness, and all these qualities,
 7  Prot|      justice and temperance and holiness are parts; or whether all
 8  Prot|        like temperance, or like holiness?~No, he answered.~Well then,
 9  Prot|      there also such a thing as holiness?’—we should answer, ‘Yes,’
10  Prot|          nothing can be holy if holiness is not holy.’ What would
11  Prot| proceeded to say further, ‘Then holiness is not of the nature of
12  Prot|        justice of the nature of holiness, but of the nature of unholiness;
13  Prot|       nature of unholiness; and holiness is of the nature of the
14  Prot|       justice is holy, and that holiness is just; and I would say
15  Prot|         is either the same with holiness, or very nearly the same;
16  Prot|     assert that justice is like holiness and holiness is like justice;
17  Prot|    justice is like holiness and holiness is like justice; and I wish
18  Prot|        justice is holy and that holiness is just, for there appears
19  Prot|       justice is holy, and that holiness is just.~Pardon me, I replied;
20  Prot|  justice bears a resemblance to holiness, for there is always some
21  Prot|      surprise, that justice and holiness have but a small degree
22  Prot|     same, as before justice and holiness appeared to us to be nearly
23  Prot|         courage and justice and holiness five names of the same thing?
