Dialogue

 1 Intro|     Theaetetus, whom he already knows, and who is recommended
 2 Intro| satisfactorily with any one who knows? ‘Impossible.’ Then what
 3 Intro|    imitator, who thinks that he knows, or the dissembler, who
 4 Intro|   philosophy. Yet, as everybody knows, truth is not wholly the
 5 Intro|  acquiesce in this aphorism. He knows of course that all things
 6 Intro|        can attribute to what he knows to be erroneous, he might
 7  Soph|         person supposes that he knows, and does not know; this
 8  Soph|       and made to think that he knows only what he knows, and
 9  Soph|      that he knows only what he knows, and no more.~THEAETETUS:
10  Soph| rational manner against him who knows?~THEAETETUS: He cannot.~
11  Soph|         when a man says that he knows all things, and can teach
12  Soph|        and will pretend that he knows nothing of mirrors and streams,
13  Soph|     further admit that the soul knows, and that being or essence
14  Soph|      distinguished from him who knows?~THEAETETUS: True.~STRANGER:
