 1 III,  1|       bestowed, on those that are involuntary pardon, and sometimes also
 2 III,  1| distinguish the voluntary and the involuntary is presumably necessary
 3 III,  1|          whether such actions are involuntary or voluntary. Something
 4 III,  1|            then, "voluntary" and "involuntary", must be used with reference
 5 III,  1|           in the abstract perhaps involuntary; for no one would choose
 6 III,  1|     things that in themselves are involuntary, but now and in return for
 7 III,  1|          agent, are in themselves involuntary, but now and in return for
 8 III,  1|       pain and repentance that is involuntary. For the man who has done
 9 III,  1|         who repents is thought an involuntary agent, and the man who does
10 III,  1|        general bad; but the term "involuntary" tends to be used not if
11 III,  1|      mistaken purpose that causes involuntary action (it leads rather
12 III,  1|          of an act that is called involuntary in virtue of ignorance of
13 III,  1|         by reason of ignorance is involuntary, the voluntary would seem
14 III,  1|   appetite are not rightly called involuntary. For in the first place,
15 III,  1|      surely be odd to describe as involuntary the things one ought to
16 III,  1|        for learning. Also what is involuntary is thought to be painful,
17 III,  1|            then, to treat them as involuntary.~
18 III,  2|        Both the voluntary and the involuntary having been delimited, we
19   V,  2|          voluntary and (2) others involuntary—voluntary such transactions
20   V,  2|          voluntary), while of the involuntary (a) some are clandestine,
21   V,  4|   transactions both voluntary and involuntary. This form of the just has
22   V,  4|        loss, viz. those which are involuntary; it consists in having an
23   V,  5|        between a voluntary and an involuntary act. But in associations
24   V,  8|         done under compulsion, is involuntary (for many natural processes,
25   V,  8|      which is either voluntary or involuntary; e.g. growing old or dying).
26   V,  8|       merely acts voluntarily.~Of involuntary acts some are excusable,
27   V,  9|         of injustice the contrary involuntary, as all unjust action is
28   V,  9|    sometimes voluntary, sometimes involuntary? So, too, with the case
29   V,  9|          alike voluntary or alike involuntary. But it would be thought
