 2  II,  2|   maintain that water animals are hotter than such as live on land,
 3  II,  2|        that bloodless animals are hotter than those with blood, and
 4  II,  2|     others declare that women are hotter than men, and that it is
 5  II,  2|      appears to be that the term "hotter" is used in several senses;
 6  II,  2|         effect is attributed to a hotter substance, and if there
 7  II,  2|           in one sense said to be hotter than another, if it impart
 8  II,  2|         sense, that is said to be hotter which causes the keener
 9  II,  2|           two things, that is the hotter which the more readily melts
10  II,  2|            that is said to be the hotter which takes the longer time
11  II,  2|           which is rapidly heated hotter than that which is long
12  II,  2| dissimilarity of nature. The term hotter is used then in all the
13  II,  2|     impossible for one body to be hotter than another in all these
14  II,  2|       again this boiling water is hotter than a small fire, and yet
15  II,  2|          Boiling water, again, is hotter to the touch than oil; yet
16  II,  2|           fluid. Blood, again, is hotter to the touch than either
17  II,  2|        that one of two bodies the hotter, which is possessed of heat,
18  II,  2|         to say that musicians are hotter than healthy men. Of that
19  II,  2|          rarely the latter is the hotter to the touch. The former
20  II,  2|        which of two bodies is the hotter. For the first may be the
21  II,  2|          For the first may be the hotter in one sense, the second
22  II,  2|         one sense, the second the hotter in another. Indeed in some
23  II,  2|     seeing that the terms hot and hotter are used in many different
24  II,  2|           no one substance can be hotter than others in all these
25  II,  2|         as that this substance is hotter per se, though that other
26  II,  2|        though that other is often hotter per accidens; or again,
27  II,  2|            that this substance is hotter in the sense of causing
28  II,  2|      touched, while that other is hotter in the sense of producing
29  II,  2|           the terms hot and cold, hotter and colder.~
