1 [Title]| On Prophesying by Dreams~ 2 1 | and is said to be based on dreams, we cannot lightly either 3 1 | persons, or many, suppose dreams to possess a special significance, 4 1 | indeed that divination in dreams should, as regards some 5 1 | also respecting all other dreams. Yet the fact of our seeing 6 1 | that the sender of such dreams should be God with the fact 7 1 | should have foresight in dreams concerning things destined 8 1 | wit of man. Well then, the dreams in question must be regarded 9 1 | we then to say that some dreams are causes, others tokens, 10 1 | pay diligent attention to dreams, and to hold this view is 11 1 | quite conceivable that some dreams may be tokens and causes [ 12 1 | Most [so-called prophetic] dreams are, however, to be classed 13 1 | Hence the fact that many dreams have no "fulfilment", for 14 2 | it may be concluded that dreams are not sent by God, nor 15 2 | future and of having vivid dreams is found in persons of inferior 16 2 | God does not send their dreams; but merely that all those 17 2 | their case also.~That many dreams have no fulfilment is not 18 2 | pass.~As for [prophetic] dreams which involve not such beginnings [ 19 2 | the foresight which such dreams give is the result of pure 20 2 | those who have foresight [in dreams]. For the mind of such persons 21 2 | particular should have vivid dreams, e.g. that familiar friends 22 2 | most skilful interpreter of dreams is he who has the faculty 23 2 | resemblances.
