BEANNAICH AN EAGLAIS

THIS IS THE SIXTH HYMN OF THE PARAPHRASE OF THE MASS. When the Mass was in Latin, this hymn would be sung at the MEMENTO OF THE LIVING - - These hymns are still sung in parishes in the Islands. They were composed by Father Allan MacDonald. The references to the different parts of the Mass are found on the page containing the FIRST PART. (IntraText editor note: Hymn 036)

This is a loose translation of the
hymn. It's purpose is simply to give
the English sense of the words.

Beannaich an Eaglais is beannaich am Pap.
Beannaich ar n-Easbaig is beannaich a Chleir;
Beannaich ar parantan, beannaich ar braithrean.
Beannaich ar cairdeans ar naimhdean gu lèir

Bless the Church and bless the Pope.
Bless our Bishop and bless the priests;
Bless our parents, bless our families.
Bless our friends and all our enemies
