FAILT' RIGH NA GLORACH
This hymn is a modern translation by
the well-known Uist bard, Donald John MacDonald. It is based on the English
hymn, HAIL REDEEMER KING DIVINE and has the same melody.
|
This
is a loose translation of the
hymn. It's purpose is simply to give
the English sense of the words.

|
Hail,
King of Glory, hail -
Yours the high royal throne;
King of Kings, Prince of Peace,
Your kingly rule, was, is and will be.
|
Sèist:
Chòisir aingelan seinnibh binn -
Molaibh Iosa Crìosd, ar Rìgh,
Tighearn' air talamh, Nèamh is cuan,
Rìgh a' ghaoil gu sìorraidh buan.
|
chorus:
Choirs of angels, sweetly sing -
Praise to Jesus Christ, our King,
Lord on earth, sky and sea,
King of love eternally
|

Thus , a Chrìosd , a Rìgh na Sìth,
Cum ar cùrs air sligh na glòir,
Bhon ‘s e 'n fhìrinn leat a chòir.
|
Be a
guiding light for us,
You, O Christ, King of Peace,
Keep our course on the path of glory,
Since truth is yours by right
|
Treòraich
dhachaigh thar an t-slèibh
Chaora dhealaich ris an treud;
Cruinnich uil iad, saor bho leòn,
Aona chìobair ‘s aona chrò.
|
Lead
home over the mountain
the sheep that separated from the flock;
Gather them all, free from grief,
under one shepherd, in one fold.
