IOSA, DHIA NAM BUADH

This is a version of JESUS, MY LORD, BEHOLD AT LENGTH THE DAY. It is sung to the same melody. The original English version was composed by J. Chadwick (1813 - 82). The translator is unknown.

This is a loose translation of the
hymn. It's purpose is simply to give
the English sense of the words.

Iosa, Dhia nam buadh,
S e seo an dràsd' an t-àm;
S e seo a-nis an uair
Am peacadh shiabadh bhuam.

Jesus, God of all that is good,
This is the now the time;
This is now the hour
to throw away my sin.

Sèist:
Thoir mathanas dhomh, Iosa;
Dèan tròcair orm, a Dhia.
Cha toir mi tuilleadh pian dhut,
A Thighearna, Iosa, Dhia.

chorus:
Pardon me, Jesus;
Have mercy on me, O God.
I will no more offend you,
O Lord, Jesus, God.

Seall air m' anam truagh -
Chosg e Fuil an Uain;
Na leig leis dhol bhuat,
S chall san t-sìorrachd bhuan.

Behold my poor soul -
Cost the blood of the lamb;
Don't let it away from you,
and lose it in eternity

S mar mhath ThuMhagdalene
A peacannan gu luath,
Cum a-nis do ghruaim
Air falbh on deòraidh thruagh.

As you forgave Magdalen
her sins readily,
Withhold your harsh look
from the tearful destitute.
