IS NAOMH, NAOMH, NAOMH THU

THIS IS THE FIFTH HYMN OF THE PARAPHRASE OF THE MASS. When the Mass was in Latin, this hymn would be sung at the SANCTUS - Holy, holy, holy - These hymns are still sung in parishes in the Islands. They were composed by Father Allan MacDonald. The references to the different parts of the Mass are found on the page containing the FIRST PART. (IntraText editor note: Hymn 036)

This is a loose translation of the
hymn. It's purpose is simply to give
the English sense of the words.

Is naomh, naomh, naomh
Thu, Thighearna Dhia nan slogh;
Tha Nèamh is talamh lan
Ded mhorachd is ded ghloir.
Moladh do Dhia anns na h-àrdaibh.
Is beannaichte Esan
tha tighinn an ainm an Tighearna
Moladh do Dhia anns na h-ardaibh.

Holy, holy, holy are
You, Lord God of hosts;
Heaven and earth are full
of your greatness and glory.
Praise to God in the highest.
Blessed is he
who comes in the name of he Lord.
Praise to God in the highest.
