Quem toties vixisse anima redeunte renatum

Mutato fama est corpore Pythagoram,

Cerne iterum ut docti caelo generatus Asylae

Vivat, ut antiquum servet in ore decus.

 

Dignum aliquid certe volvit: sic fronte severa est,

Sic in se magno pectore totus abit.

Posset et ille altos animi depromere sensus,

Sed veteri obstrictus religione silet.
