Scaena vicesima septima - Patricius, Irenaeus, Eugenius

PATRICIUS
surgens et in cathedram recidens.
Itane perfidus, impius, barbarus? ah!

IRENAEUS
Convicia nihil prosunt.

PATRICIUS
Deficit animus prae dolore.

EUGENIUS
Fer opem patri, Irenaee, nondum audeo proprius accedere.

PATRICIUS
Accede, nate, ne verere, amplectere. Ah! Eugeni, ah fili! dilecte fili! solatium patris unicum... ah! ah! Philota, scelerate Philota!

IRENAEUS
Omitte nos, Eugeni, et amore paterno fac te semper dignum exhibeas.

EUGENIUS
Id praestabo, quantum potero. Tu, quaeso, patrem Philotae reconcilia, si potes, et bene vale.
