CANIS URNA

O urna! nunquam sis tuo eruta hortulo
  Fidele quae pectus tenes,
Nunquam excitandum blandientis vocibus
  Aut flebili concors hero.
Acuta lingua quum puella intrat forem
  Silere non docebitur,
Neque oricillam, duplici incurvus genu
  Planoque acutam, subriges,
Saliensve post sedile, et inde porrigens
  Trans colla narem frigidam,
Dabis oscula illa, nunc volenti, quae prius
  Aliquantulum invito dabas.
Duae sepulchrum populi canae tegunt
  Simul susurrantes super;
At, Pomero, harum lenia nulla murmura
  Somnos uti prius iuvant:
Id haud necesse est; altior somnus premit
  Quem laetus ignorat dies;
Nec mane nec meridie nec vesperi
  Pellendus aut movendus est.
Nil aura verna, nil vox una blandior,
  Nil proficit carmen meum.
Vale, hortule! aeternumque, Pomero, vale!
  Sed, si datur, nostri memor!
