12. De captivitate populi Israhelitici et generationebus usque David.

 

Post cuius transitum, dum praecepta divina postponunt, saepe in alienigenarum servitio subiugantur. Sed cum conversi ingemiscunt, tribuente Domino, per virorum fortium brachium liberantur. Post haec per Samuelem regem, sicut reliquae gentes habent, a Domino postolant; accipiunt primum Saul, deinde David. Ab Abraham ergo usque ad David generationes 14: id est Abraham, Isaac, Iacob, Iudas, Phares, Esdrom, Aram, Aminadab, Naason, Salma, [Booz], Obeth, Iesse, David. David autem genuit Salamonem de Bersabee. His per Nathan prophetam, fratrem suum, et matrem in regno evectus est.
