Kan. 1399 - Poza wypadkami przewidzianymi w tej lub w innych ustawach, zewnętrzne naruszenie prawa Bożego lub kanonicznego, tylko wtedy może być ukarane sprawiedliwa karą, gdy domaga się tego szczególna ciężkość przekroczenia i przynagla konieczność zapobieżenia zgorszeniom lub ich naprawienia.
