āśaṃsāyāṃ bhūtavac ca || PS_3,3.132 ||

vā ity eva /
vartamāna-samīpye iti na anuvartate /
āśaṃsanam āśaṃsā, aprāptasya priyārthasya prāptum icchā /
tasyāś ca bhaviṣyatkālo viṣayaḥ /
tatra bhaviṣyati kāle āśaṃsāyāṃ gamyamānāyāṃ dhātoḥ vā bhūtavat pratyayā bhavanti, cakārād vartamānavac ca /
upādhyāyaś ced āgamat, āgataḥ, āgacchati, āgamiṣyati, ete vyākaraṇam adhyagīṣmahi, ete vyākaraṇam adhītavantaḥ, adhīmahe, adhyeṣyāmahe /
sāmānya-atideśe viśeṣānatideśāl laṅ-liṭau na bhavataḥ /
āśaṃsāyām iti kim ? āgamiṣyati //
