sthaṇḍila-śabdāt saptamīsamarthāt śayitaryabhidheye yathāvihitaṃ pratyayo bhavati, samudāyena cet vrataṃ gamyate /
vratam iti śāstrito niyamaḥ ucyate /
sthaṇḍile śayituṃ vratamasya sthāṇḍilo bhikṣuḥ /
sthāṇḍilo brahmacārī /
vrate iti kim ? sthāṇḍile śete brahmadattaḥ //
