ūdhas-śabdāntād bahuvrīheḥ striyāṃ ṅīṣ pratyayo bhavati /
ūdhaso 'naṅ (*5,4.131) iti samāsānte kr̥te ano bahuvrīheḥ (*4,1.12) iti ḍāp-pratiṣedhayoḥ prāptayor idam ucyate /
ghaṭodhnī /
kuṇḍodhnī /
bahuvrīheḥ iti kim ? prāptā ūdhaḥ prāptodhāḥ /
ana upadhālopino 'nyatarasyām (*4,1.28) ity asya api ṅīpo 'yam uttaratra anuvr̥tter bādhaka iṣyate /
samāsāntaś ca striyām eva /
iha na bhavati, mahodhāḥ parjanyaḥ iti //
