PSALM
56
Have
mercy
on me,
O
Lady
, have
mercy
on me: for my
heart
is
prepared
to
seek
out thy will.
And I will
rest
in the
shelter
of thine
arms
: for
sweet
to me is thy
refreshment
.
Thy
hands
have
distilled
the first
myrrh
: and thy
fingers
the
unguents
of
graces
.
And a
fragment
of
pomegranate
is thy
throat
: and thy
breath
is
sweet
as an
amalgam
of
choice
smelling
herbs
.
For thou
art
the
mother
of
fair
love
and the
anchor
of
hope
: the
harbor
of
safety
,
indulgence
or
pardon
, and the
gate
of
salvation
.
Glory
be to the
Father
, etc.
