PSALM 56
Have mercy on me, O Lady, have mercy on me: for my heart is prepared to
seek out thy will.
And I will rest in the shelter of thine arms: for sweet to me is thy
refreshment.
Thy hands have distilled the first myrrh: and thy fingers the unguents of
graces.
And a fragment of pomegranate is thy throat: and thy breath is sweet as an
amalgam of choice smelling herbs.
For thou art the mother of fair love and the anchor of hope: the harbor of
safety, indulgence or pardon, and the gate of salvation.
Glory be to the Father, etc.
