  1 Pre,     0, 10|        topic, and form, as we have said, one body of doctrine, by
  2   I,     I,  1|     writings of Moses they find it said, that "our God is a consuming
  3   I,     I,  1|          of receiving truth, as is said in the Psalms 36, "In Thy
  4   I,     I,  2| understanding, Scripture itself is said or thought to be covered:
  5   I,     I,  3|            power, in which all are said to have a share who have
  6   I,     I,  3|          discipline itself, may be said to be partaken of the art
  7   I,     I,  8|         the Father, in the Gospel, said to be seen by the Son, nor
  8   I,     I,  8|         the Father, but the one is said to be known by the other.~
  9   I,     I,  9|            the passage where it is said, "Blessed are the pure in
 10   I,     I,  9|            soul, so that it may be said to see with the eyes of
 11   I,     I,  9|        intelligence. So also it is said to hear with the ears when
 12   I,     I,  9|           like manner, also, it is said to employ the services of
 13   I,    II,  2|         indeed, but-what cannot be said of God without impiety-was
 14   I,    II,  3|            the ways of God, and is said to be created, forming beforehand
 15   I,    II,  3|          Acts of Paul, where it is said that "here is the Word a
 16   I,    II,  8|           inquire how there can be said to be another figure of
 17   I,    II,  8|          greatness, inasmuch as He said to His disciples, "He who
 18   I,    II,  9|            of Solomon, where it is said of Wisdom that "it is a
 19   I,    II, 11|        understood. To what we then said we shall add only the following
 20   I,    II, 11|      beginning, except, as we have said, from God Himself.~
 21   I,    II, 12|         can those things which are said by some to be done after
 22   I,    II, 12|           in the Gospel the Son is said to do not similar things,
 23   I,    II, 13|            But, as we have already said, the primal goodness is
 24   I,   III,  2|         and by Daniel, where it is Said, "The Holy Spirit which
 25   I,   III,  3|           the Holy Spirit could be said to be made or created, not
 26   I,   III,  4|      Testament also, as when it is said, "He that giveth His Spirit
 27   I,   III,  4|           the Father. For as it is said of the Son, that "no one

 29   I,   III,  4|     remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." We must understand,
 30   I,   III,  6|          who truly exists, and who said by Moses, "I Am Who I Am,"
 31   I,   III,  6|            word or reason, men are said to have sinned, viz., from
 32   I,   III,  7|      convey in the Gospel, when He said that new wine cannot be
 33   I,   III,  7|        saints. And therefore it is said, "No man can say that Jesus
 34   I,   III,  7|            this very act and work, said to be guilty of blasphemy
 35   I,   III,  7|       suppose that we, from having said that the Holy Spirit is
 36   I,    IV,  1|           from the apostle what is said of those who are perfect,
 37   I,    IV,  2|            fallen, in what we have said, into a digression, having
 38   I,     V,  2|        similar name, but which are said to bend the knee, or to
 39   I,     V,  3|        darkness of this world, are said, with respect to their rule
 40   I,     V,  3|           over those whom they are said to govern or exercise power
 41   I,     V,  4|           discovered in him, it be said of him then that he was
 42   I,     V,  4|            not yet on the earth is said to be cast forth upon it:
 43   I,     V,  4|         whose holy places also are said to be polluted. We have
 44   I,     V,  5|           darkness, how is Lucifer said to have existed before?
 45   I,     V,  5|           opposing powers, and are said to have been once without
 46   I,    VI,  1|          holy Scripture, "The Lord said to My Lord, Sit Thou at
 47   I,    VI,  4|          happiness to which, it is said, even enemies themselves
 48   I,    VI,  4|     subjected, and in which God is said to be "all and in all."

 54   I,   VII,  5|          referred to, or how is it said "not willingly," or "in

 56   I,  VIII,  1|           were disposed, as I have said, not indiscriminately and
 57  II,     I,  1|          cause, as we have already said, are we to imagine for so
 58  II,     I,  4|         this matter is, as we have said above, according to its
 59  II,   III,  2|            Creator of the soul, is said to be the clothing of the
 60  II,   III,  2|           intelligible is the soul said to be the clothing of the
 61  II,   III,  2|           is as if the apostle had said, "This corruptible nature
 62  II,   III,  2|         corruptible cannot also be said to be mortal. We say of
 63  II,   III,  2|        hence it happens that it is said, "The corruptible will put
 64  II,   III,  2|       immortality, therefore is it said, "This corruptible must
 65  II,   III,  3|         then it will be deservedly said by all, "O death, where
 66  II,   III,  3|           is admitted, and all are said to be subjected to Christ,
 67  II,   III,  3|          Father, to whom Christ is said to deliver up the kingdom;
 68  II,   III,  3|         Now let us see what can be said in answer to those who make
 69  II,   III,  4|    respects equal. For if there is said to be a world similar in
 70  II,   III,  4|          done in this life will be said to be repeated,-a state
 71  II,   III,  5|           itself called an age, is said to be the conclusion of
 72  II,   III,  5|           after this age, which is said to be formed for the consummation
 73  II,   III,  5|            towards us." He has not said, "in the age to come," nor "
 74  II,   III,  6|           the plan of the world is said to be contained in the clothing
 75  II,   III,  6|         Now, of this world we have said beforehand, that the explanation
 76  II,   III,  6|            names of the saints are said to be written, or to have
 77  II,   III,  6|          that "firmanent" which is said to have been made after
 78  II,   III,  6|         Thy fingers," and when God said, regarding all things visible,
 79  II,   III,  7|           adopted. For it has been said that we must suppose either
 80  II,   III,  7|         spheres of the planets are said to be, has been left behind
 81  II,   III,  7|  themselves capable of wisdom, are said to deserve the kingdom of
 82  II,    IV,  1|            the same, viz., who had said in the prophets, "I am God,
 83  II,    IV,  2|        that appear to be logically said which He subjoins, viz.,
 84  II,    IV,  3|           the Father of Christ, is said to be seen, because "he
 85  II,    IV,  3|         who gave answers to Moses, said, "You shall not see My face,
 86  II,    IV,  3|       clear, then, that He has not said, "No one has seen the Father,
 87  II,    IV,  4|          Testament, as when God is said to be angry or to repent,
 88  II,    IV,  4|          the Gospel; as when it is said, that he who planted a vineyard,
 89  II,    IV,  4|          to death even the son, is said in anger to have taken away
 90  II,     V,  2|          with wedding raiment, and said. to him, "Friend, how camest
 91  II,     V,  4|             In like manner also he said that a man was wicked who
 92  II,    VI,  3|       anima) regarding which Jesus said, "No one shall take my life (

100  II,    VI,  7|            salvation of the world, said, "The breath of our countenance
101  II,    VI,  7|        Christ the Lord, to whom we said, that under His shadow we
102  II,    VI,  7|           Holy Spirit, the apostle said, "Yea, though we have known
103  II,   VII,  4|     meaning intercessor; for He is said to intercede with the Father
104  II,  VIII,  1|     Scripture is added, when it is said that "God made great whales,
105  II,  VIII,  1|     mobilis. This certainly may be said appropriately of all living
106  II,  VIII,  1|          were to ask how it can be said with respect to bees, wasps,

115  II,  VIII,  3|         and if the love of many is said to wax cold; we have to
116  II,  VIII,  3|              For after it has been said, "All souls are Mine; as
117  II,  VIII,  3|          if, perchance, as we have said is declared by the name
118  II,  VIII,  5|            say, "How then is there said to be also a soul of God? "
