Part, Sura

  1  I          |  unlawful to take any life there save those of the animals brought
  2  I          |          resource apostatized to save their lives.~ ~Under these
  3  I          |       part of a plan designed to save Mecca from unnecessary bloodshed
  4  I          |        drowned: he endeavours to save his son. The ark settles
  5  I          |     forget any of the revelation save what God pleases, The revelation
  6  I,       II|     Adore Adam,' they adored him save only Iblîs, who refused
  7  I,       II|        though it is a hard thing save for the humble, who think
  8  I,       II|          fire shall not touch us save for a number of days 2.'
  9  I,       II|         and then ye turned back, save a few of you, and swerved
 10  I,       II|        None shall enter Paradise save such as be Jews or Christians;'
 11  I,       II|        from the faith of Abraham save one who is foolish of soul?
 12  I,       II|          which thou wert agreed, save that we might know who follows
 13  I,       II|     although it is a great thing save to those whom God doth guide.
 14  I,       II|         no argument against you, save only those of them who are
 15  I,       II|      shall curse them too. [155] Save those who turn and do right
 16  I,       II|      which hears him~ ~ ./. not, save only a call and a cry 1;
 17  I,       II|         nothing in their bellies save fire and God will not speak
 18  I,       II|        let there be no hostility save against the unjust.~ ~[190]
 19  I,       II|        none did disagree therein save those who had been given
 20  I,       II|          fight they turned back, save a few of them, and God knows
 21  I,       II|    tastes it not, he is of mine, save he who laps it lapping with
 22  I,       II|           And they drank from it save a few of them, and~ ~ ./. 
 23  I,       II|         that intercedes with Him save by His permission? He knows
 24  I,       II|        would not take yourselves save by connivance~ ~ ./. at
 25  I,       II|           but none will remember save those endowed with minds.~ ~
 26  I,       II|    yourselves, and do not expend save craving for God's face.~ ~
 27  I,       II|      usury shall not rise again, save as he riseth whom Satan
 28  I,       II|          not require of the soul save its capacity .It shall have
 29  I,      III|           but none will remember save those who possess minds.~ ~'
 30  I,      III|          fire shall not touch us save for a certain number of
 31  I,      III|     speak to men for three days, save by gesture; but remember
 32  I,      III|       faith1 - 'do not believe save one who followeth your religion.'~ ~
 33  I,      III|          shall they be respited; save those who repent after that,
 34  I,      III|        to the children of Israel save what Israel made unlawful
 35  I,      III|         He deserves, and die not save ye be resigned.~ ~Take tight
 36  I,      III|        shall surely not harm you save a hurt 1; and if they fight
 37  I,      III|          wherever they be found, save for the rope of God and
 38  I,      III|      sins,-and who forgives sins save God?-and do not persevere
 39  I,      III|         not for any soul to die, save by God's permission written
 40  I,       IV|     merciful; and married women, save such as your right hands
 41  I,       IV|       have never sent an apostle save that he should be obeyed
 42  I,       IV|          would not have done it, save only a few of them but had
 43  I,       IV|     mercy ye had followed Satan, save a few.~ ~Fight, then, in
 44  I,       IV|         neither patron nor help,-save those who reach a people
 45  I,       IV|      believer to kill a believer save by mistake; and whosoever
 46  I,       IV|       must be paid to his people save what they shall remit as
 47  I,       IV|     journey shall it be!~ ~[100] Save for the weak men, and women,
 48  I,       IV|        what they talk in private save in his who bids almsgiving,
 49  I,       IV|          not beside Him on aught save females; and they do not
 50  I,       IV|        they do not call on aught save a rebellious devil.~ ~God
 51  I,       IV|         for them a help.~ ~[145] Save those who turn again, and
 52  I,       IV|        nor say against God aught save the truth. The Messiah,
 53  I,        V|        for you are brute beasts, save what is here recited to
 54  I,        V|          treachery amongst them, save a few of them; but pardon
 55  I,        V|          the next is mighty woe; save for those who repent before
 56  I,        V|        unseen. I never told them save what Thou didst bid me,-"
 57  I,       VI|         openly, would any perish save the people who do wrong?'~ ~
 58  I,       VI|          not send our messengers save as heralds of glad tidings
 59  I,       VI|          unseen. None knows them save He; He knows what is in
 60  I,       VI|       and there falls not a leaf save that He knows it; nor a
 61  I,       VI|           nor aught that is dry, save that is in His perspicuous
 62  I,       VI|          it a hire: it is naught save a reminder to the worlds.'~ ~
 63  I,       VI|        what is unlawful for you? Save what ye are forced to; but,
 64  I,       VI|        to dwell therein for aye! save what God pleases; verily,
 65  I,       VI|        none shall taste thereof, save such as we please as they
 66  I,       VI|        prohibit to them the fat, save what the backs of both do
 67  I,       VI|         which God hath forbidden save by right 1; that is what
 68  I,       VI|        the wealth of the orphan, save so as to better it, until
 69  I,       VI|        We do not compel the soul save what it can compass; and
 70  I,       VI|         no soul shall earn aught save against itself 1; nor shall
 71  I,      VII|          Adam,' and they adored, save Iblîs, who was not of those
 72  I,      VII|        serve God, ye have no god save Him; what! will ye not then
 73  I,      VII|        serve God, ye have no god save Him. There has come to you
 74  I,      VII|       thou take vengeance on us, save for that we believe in the
 75  I,      VII|           shall they be rewarded save for that which they have
 76  I,      VII|          it will not come to you save on a sudden.'~ ~They will
 77  I,      VII|       profit or harm for myself, save what God will. If I knew
 78  I,     VIII|       that day his hinder parts. save turning to fight or rallying
 79  I,       IX|        God and with His Apostle, save those with whom ye have
 80  I,       IX|           Nought shall befall us save what God has written down
 81  I,       IX|  alms-giving from being accepted save that they misbelieve in
 82  I,       IX|           and perform not prayer save lazily, and expend not in
 83  I,       IX|           and expend not in alms save reluctantly.~ ~ ./. 55]
 84  I,       IX|         refuge for them from God save unto Him.~ ~Then He turned
 85  I,        X|       towards Him, 'If thou dost save from this we will surely
 86  I,        X|      though they had not tarried save an hour of the day, they
 87  I,        X|          for harm or for profit, save what God will. Every nation
 88  I,        X|          none believed in Moses, save a race of his own people,
 89  I,        X|         people who do wrong, but save, us by Thy mercy from the
 90  I,        X|         evil; but to-day we will save thee in thy body, that thou
 91  I,        X|        for any person to believe save by the permission of God;
 92  I,        X|          who wait.' Then we will save our apostles and those who
 93  I,        X|        thus is it due from us to save believers.~ ~Say, 'O ye
 94  I,        X|       there is none to remove it save He; and if He wish thee
 95  I,       XI|          is joyful and boasting. Save those who are patient and
 96  I,       XI|         nothing in the hereafter save the Fire; and void is what
 97  I,       XI|        ye should not worship any save God. Verily, I fear for
 98  I,       XI|         and likewise thy family,-save those on whom the sentence
 99  I,       XI|      there believed not with him save a few. And he said, 'Ride
100  I,       XI|         to a mountain that shall save me from the water.' Said
101  I,       XI|       Said he, 'There is none to save to-day from the command
102  I,       XI|       had come; nor did they add save to their downfall!~ ~Thus
103  I,       XI|            We will not delay it, save unto a numbered and appointed
104  I,       XI|         come no soul shall speak save by His permission, and amongst
105  I,       XI|    heavens and the earth endure; save what thy Lord will. Verily,
106  I,       XI|    heavens and the earth endure; save what thy Lord will 1,-a
107  I,       XI|          evildoing in the earth, save a few of those whom we saved;
108  I,       XI|        will not cease to differ, save those thy Lord has had mercy
109  I,      XII|          put by before for them, save a little of what ye shall
110  I,      XII|          is very urgent to evil, save what my Lord has had mercy
111  I,      XII|          I entrust you with him, save as I entrusted you with
112  I,      XII|        them nothing against God, save for a want in Jacob's soul
113  I,      XII|    refuge in God from taking any save him with whom we found our
114  I,      XII|         despair of God's comfort save a misbelieving people!'~ ~
115  I,      XII|        ever send before thee any save men whom we inspired, of
116  I,     XIII|          answered at all,~ ~ ./. save as one who stretches out
117  I,     XIII|       apostle could bring a sign save by God's permission;-for
118  I,      XIV|        have not sent any apostle save with the language of his
119  I,      XIV|      after them? none knows them save God. Apostles came unto
120  I,      XIV|          bring you an authority, save by His permission; but upon
121  I,       XV|         sent not down the angels save by right; nor even then
122  I,       XV|       from every pelted devil 1; save from such as steal a hearing,
123  I,       XV|       and we do not send it down save in a noted quantity.~ ~And
124  I,       XV|     adored all of them together, save Iblîs, who refused to be
125  I,       XV|          them all together; [40] save such of Thy servants amongst
126  I,       XV|          hast no authority over, save over those who follow thee
127  I,       XV|         of the mercy of his Lord save those who err?' He said, '
128  I,       XV|       sent unto a sinful people; save only Lot's family, them
129  I,       XV|       Lot's family, them will we save all together, [60] except
130  I,       XV|       that is between them both, save in truth. And, verily, the
131 II,     XVII|        the wealth of the orphan, save to improve it, until he
132 II,     XVII|         sending thee with signs, save that those of yore said
133 II,     XVII|        send (any one) with signs save to make men fear.~ ~And
134 II,     XVII|          Adam;' and they adored, save Iblîs, who said, 'Am I to
135 II,     XVII|         men refuse to accept it, save ungratefully.~ ~ ./. And
136 II,     XVII|       the guidance came to them, save their saying, 'God has sent
137 II,     XVII| wrong-doers refuse to accept it, save ungratefully!~ ~Say, 'Did
138 II,     XVII|        that none sent down these save the Lord of the heavens
139 II,    XVIII|        therefore concerning them save with a plain disputation,
140 II,    XVIII|     pleases 1! there is no power save in God,"-to look at, I am
141 II,    XVIII|                 they adored him, save only Iblîs, who was of the
142 II,    XVIII|             We sent not prophets save as heralds of glad tidings
143 II,      XIX|          65] We do not descend 2 save at the bidding~ ~ ./. of
144 II,      XIX|       thy Lord 1.~ ~Then we will save those who fear us; but we
145 II,      XIX|        not possess intercession, save he who has taken a compact
146 II,       XX|    intercession be of any avail, save from such as the Merciful
147 II,       XX|   continues] Adam,' they adored, save Iblîs, who refused. And
148 II,      XXI|          the trouble. Thus do we save believers!~ ~And Zachariah,
149 II,     XXII|        from falling on the earth save at His bidding 1? verily,
150 II,     XXIV|          display their ornaments save to their husbands and fathers,
151 II,      XXV|         which God has prohibited save deservedly 2; and do not
152 II,      XXV|   therein for aye despised. [70] Save he who turns again and believes
153 II,     XXVI|     Verily, they are foes to me, save only the Lord of the worlds,
154 II,     XXVI|     between them an opening, and save me and those of the believers
155 II,     XXVI|         hate your deed; my Lord! save me and my people from what
156 II,     XXVI|       that which they do not do? save those who believe, and do
157 II,    XXVII|    me-apostles fear not with me; save only those who have done
158 II,    XXVII|        the earth know the unseen save only God; but they perceive
159 II,    XXVII|         the heaven or the earth, save that it is in the perspicuous
160 II,    XXVII|        shall~ ~ ./. be startled, save whom God pleases! and all
161 II,    XXVII|       fire. Shall ye be rewarded save for what ye have done?~ ~
162 II,   XXVIII|       expectant. Said he, 'Lord, save me from the unjust people!'~ ~
163 II,   XXVIII|         would be thrown to thee, save as a mercy from thy Lord!
164 II,     XXIX|        them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the deluge
165 II,     XXIX|    therein; we shall of a surety save him and his people, except
166 II,     XXIX|          grieve; we are about to save thee and, thy people, except
167 II,     XXIX|       none will understand them, save those who know.~ ~God created
168 II,     XXIX|       except for what is better; save with those who have been
169 II,      XXX|       that they have not tarried save an hour; thus were they
170 II,     XXXI|          none gainsays our signs save every perfidious misbeliever.~ ~
171 II,   XXXIII|         Say, 'Who is it that can save you from God, if He wish
172 II,   XXXIII|          dwell near thee therein save for a little while. Cursed
173 II,    XXXIV|      less than that, or greater, save in the perspicuous Book;'
174 II,    XXXIV|         guided them to his death save a reptile of the earth that
175 II,    XXXIV|           and they followed him, save a party of the believers 1.~ ~[
176 II,    XXXIV|          no authority over them, save that we might know who it
177 II,    XXXIV|        to a near approach to us, save him who believes and does
178 II,    XXXVI|        to; nor are they rescued, save by mercy from us, as a provision
179 II,   XXXVII|        them is lasting woe; [10] save such as snatches off a word,
180 II,   XXXVII|         nor shall ye be rewarded save for that which ye have done!~ ~
181 II,   XXXVII|           What! shall we not die save our first death? and shall
182 II,   XXXVII|        of those who were warned, save God's sincere servants!~ ~ ./. 
183 II,   XXXVII|       shall surely be arraigned, save God's sincere servants.
184 II,   XXXVII|          they attribute! - [160] save God's sincere servants.~ ~'
185 II,   XXXVII|          any one concerning him, save hint who shall broil in
186 II,  XXXVIII|       angels adored all of them, save Iblîs, who was too big with
187 II,    XXXIX|             We do not serve them save that they may bring us near
188 II,    XXXIX|        in the earth shall swoon, save whom God pleases. Then it
189 II,      XLI|          none shall meet with it save those who are patient; and
190 II,      XLI|          none shall meet with it save those who are endowed with
191 II,      XLI|      conceives, or is delivered, save with His knowledge.~ ~And
192 II,    XLIII|         not set it forth to thee save for wrangling. Nay, but
193 II,    XLIII|     shall be foes to each other, save those who fear.~ ~O my servants!
194 II,     XLIV|        nor shall they be helped; save whomsoever God shall have
195 II,     XLIV|       not taste therein of death save their first death, and we
196 II,     XLVI|          morning naught was seen save their dwellings. Thus do
197 II,   XLVIII|          they did not understand save a little.~ ~Say to those
198 II,       LI|     created the ginn and mankind save that they may worship me.~ ~
199 II,      LII|        them; for their Lord will save them from the torment of
200 II,     LIII|  intercession avails not at all, save after God has given permission
201 II,      LIV|         a heavy sand storm; all, save Lot's family, we saved them
202 II,       LV|          ye cannot pass through~ save by authority!~ Then which
203 II,      LIX|      fight against you in a body save in fortified cities, or
204 II,      LXI|         a merchandise which will save you from grievous woe?~ ~
205 II,     LXVI|        too.'~ ~O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families
206 II,     LXVI|       with Thee in Paradise, and save me from Pharaoh and his
207 II,     LXVI|       Pharaoh and his works, and save me from the unjust people!'~ ~
208 II,     LXIX|    except foul ichor, which none save sinners shall eat Y~ ~I
209 II,      LXX|      touches him, niggardly; all save those who pray, who remain
210 II,    LXXII|          no one know His unseen, save such apostle as He is well
211 II,    LXXIV|      knows the hosts of thy Lord save Himself; and it is only
212 II,  LXXVIII|      ranks, they shall not speak save to whom the Merciful permits,
213 II,   LXXXIV|    tidings of grievous woe! [25] save those who believe and act
214 II,    LXXXV|       took not vengeance on them save for~ their belief in God,~
215 II,  LXXXVII|         thou shalt not forget 2, save what God pleases. Verily,
216 II, LXXXVIII|          no food shall they have save from the foul thorn, which
217 II,      XCV|      back the lowest of the low; save those who believe and act
218 II,     CIII|          verily, man is in loss! save~ ~ ./. those who believe
