 28  I             |         lawgiver after the flight at Medînah.~ ~Sûrahs belonging to the
 29  I             |              of the latter period to Medînah, although the actual place
 30  I             |           calm teaching of the later Medînah ones. This change is gradual,
 31  I             |      altogether.~ ~To understand the Medînah Sûrahs we must bear in mind
 32  I             |           affronts against him.~ ~In Medînah he appears as a military
 33  I             |          power.~ ~The other party at Medînah was composed of the Jewish
 34  I             |            the persons with whom the Medînah Sûrahs chiefly deal.~ ~The
 35  I             |             deal.~ ~The style of the Medînah Sûrahs resembles that of
 36  I             |             much uncertain.~ ~In the Medînah Sûrahs the prophet is no
