1001  I,       IV   |             as a friend.~ ~[125] And God's is what is in the heavens
1002  I,       IV   |        heavens and in the earth, and God encompasses all things!~ ~
1003  I,       IV   |          decision about women; say, 'God decides for you about them,
1004  I,       IV   |             do of good, verily, that God knows.'~ ~And if a woman
1005  I,       IV   |            if ye act kindly and fear God, of what ye do He is aware.~ ~
1006  I,       IV   |            reconciled and fear, then God is forgiving and merciful;
1007  I,       IV   |      merciful; but if they separate, God can make both independent

1026  I,       IV   |          would be like them. Verily, God will gather the hypocrites
1027  I,       IV   |            the victory be yours from God, say, 'Were we not with
1028  I,       IV   |             from the believers?' But God shall judge between you
1029  I,       IV   |            the resurrection day; for God will not give the misbelievers
1030  I,       IV   |           hypocrites seek to deceive God, but He deceives them; and
1031  I,       IV   |             men, and do not remember God, except a few; wavering
1032  I,       IV   |             to those! but whomsoever God doth lead astray thou shall
1033  I,       IV   |               do ye wish to make for God a power against you?~ ~Verily,
1034  I,       IV   |               and take tight hold on God, and are sincere in religion
1035  I,       IV   |           are sincere in religion to God; these are with the believers,
1036  I,       IV   |              with the believers, and God will give to the believers
1037  I,       IV   |              mighty hire. Why should God punish you, if ye are grateful
1038  I,       IV   |            grateful and believe? for God is grateful and knowing.~ ~
1039  I,       IV   |              grateful and knowing.~ ~God loves not publicity of evil
1040  I,       IV   |            one has been wronged; for God both hears and knows.~ ~
1041  I,       IV   |              or pardon evil, verily, God is pardoning and powerful!~ ~
1042  I,       IV   |              those who disbelieve in God and His apostles desire
1043  I,       IV   |           make a distinction between God and His apostles, and say, '
1044  I,       IV   |             But those who believe in God and His apostles, and who
1045  I,       IV   |            will give their hire, for God is forgiving and merciful!~ ~
1046  I,       IV   |              for they said, 'Show us God openly;' but the thunderbolt
1047  I,       IV   |           and for their misbelief in God's signs, and for their killing
1048  I,       IV   |             are uncircumcised,'-nay, God hath stamped on them their
1049  I,       IV   |              of Mary, the apostle of God,' . . but they did not kill
1050  I,       IV   |                  him, for sure! nay, God raised him up unto Himself;
1051  I,       IV   |             him up unto Himself; for God is mighty and wise 1!~ ~
1052  I,       IV   |       obstructing so much the way of God, and for their taking usury
1053  I,       IV   |           alms, and the believers in God and the last day,-unto these
1054  I,       IV   |             thee of;~ ~But Moses did God speak to, speaking;-apostles
1055  I,       IV   |            have no' argument against God, after the apostles for
1056  I,       IV   |               after the apostles for God is mighty, wise!~ ~ ./. 
1057  I,       IV   |             mighty, wise!~ ~ ./. But God bears witness to what He

1078  I,        V   |            not deem the monuments of God to be lawful, nor the sacred
1079  I,        V   |             sin and enmity; but fear God,-verily, God is keen to
1080  I,        V   |        enmity; but fear God,-verily, God is keen to punish.~ ~Forbidden
1081  I,        V   |             is devoted to other than God, and the strangled and the
1082  I,        V   |             wilfully to sin, verily, God is forgiving, compassionate.~ ~
1083  I,        V   |          like dogs;-ye teach them as God taught you;-so eat of what
1084  I,        V   |              and mention the name of God over it, and fear God, for
1085  I,        V   |             of God over it, and fear God, for verily, God is swift
1086  I,        V   |            and fear God, for verily, God is swift in reckoning up.'~ ~
1087  I,        V   |            and your hands therewith. God does not wish to make any
1088  I,        V   |               Remember the favour of God to you and His covenant
1089  I,        V   |             and we obey 1;' and fear God, verily, God knows the nature

1145  I,        V   |              these they who swore by God with their most strenuous

1147  I,        V   |              him who blames. That is God's grace! He gives it unto

1243  I,       VI   |              the hour, on other than God would ye call, if ye do
1244  I,       VI   |           were cut off; praise be to God, Lord of the worlds!~ ~Say, '
1245  I,       VI   |               Say, 'Look you now! if God should catch your hearing
1246  I,       VI   |              upon your hearts-who is god but God to bring you it
1247  I,       VI   |           your hearts-who is god but God to bring you it again?'~ ~

1262  I,       VI   |            of what ye associate with God; verily, I have turned my
1263  I,       VI   |           dispute with me concerning God, when He has guided me?
1264  I,       VI   |           fear not to associate with God what He has sent down to
1265  I,       VI   |          into a right way.~ ~That is God's guidance; He guides those
1266  I,       VI   |                 90] It is these that God hath guided, and by their
1267  I,       VI   |         worlds.'~ ~They do not prize God at His true worth when they
1268  I,       VI   |           true worth when they say, 'God has never revealed to mortal
1269  I,       VI   |             nor your fathers.' Say, 'God,' then leave them in their
1270  I,       VI   |          than he who devises against God a lie, or says, 'I am inspired 2,'
1271  I,       VI   |          bring down the like of what God has sent down;' but didst
1272  I,       VI   |              that ye did say against God what was not true, and were
1273  I,       VI(2)|             he said, 'and blessed be God, best of creators,' and
1274  I,       VI(4)|               That is, partners with God, idols; to associate being
1275  I,       VI   |             pretend.'~ ~[95] Verily, God it is who cleaves out the
1276  I,       VI   |            from the living. There is God! how then can ye be beguiled?~ ~

1281  I,       VI   |             the idolaters.~ ~But had God pleased, they would not
1282  I,       VI   |         those who call on other than God, for then they may abuse
1283  I,       VI   |              for then they may abuse God openly in their ignorance.
1284  I,       VI   |           done.~ ~ ./. They swore by God with their most strenuous
1285  I,       VI   |              Say, 'Signs are only in God's hands;-but what will make
1286  I,       VI   |            have believed unless that God pleased-but most of them
1287  I,       VI   |            may gain!~ ~Of other than God shall I crave a decree,
1288  I,       VI   |              astray from the path of God, they only follow suspicion
1289  I,       VI   |           guided.~ ~Eat then of what God's name has been pronounced
1290  I,       VI   |              ye do not eat from what God's name is pronounced over,
1291  I,       VI   |              not of what the name of God has not been pronounced

1300  I,       VI   |               and that which was for God does reach to their associates;-
1301  I,       VI(2)|            fields to Allah the chief God, and other portions to minor
1302  I,       VI   |            their religion 1; but had God pleased they would not have
1303  I,       VI   |     prohibited, and cattle over whom God's name is not pronounced,-
1304  I,       VI   |     knowledge, and who prohibit what God has bestowed upon them,
1305  I,       VI   |          them, forging a lie against God; they have erred and are
1306  I,       VI   |             to spread 3. Eat of what God has bestowed upon you, and
1307  I,       VI   |               Were ye witnesses when God ordained for you these?-
1308  I,       VI   |            who devises a lie against God, to lead men astray without
1309  I,       VI   |           without knowledge? verily, God guides not the unjust people 1.'~ ~
1310  I,       VI   |            consecrated to other than God. But he who is forced, not
1311  I,       VI   |            who associate others with God will say, 'Had God pleased,
1312  I,       VI   |              with God will say, 'Had God pleased, we had not so associated,
1313  I,       VI   |           conjecture.'~ ~[150] Say, 'God's is the searching argument;
1314  I,       VI   |     witnesses, who bear witness that God has prohibited these!' but
1315  I,       VI   |             kill not the soul, which God hath forbidden save by right 1;
1316  I,       VI   |             by right 1; that is what God ordains you, haply ye may
1317  I,       VI   |            case of a relative.~ ~And God's compact fulfil ye; that
1318  I,       VI   |             unjust than he who calls God's signs lies, and turns
1319  I,       VI   |            their~ ~ ./. matter is in God's hands, He will yet inform
1320  I,       VI   |          life and my death belong to God, the Lord of the worlds.

1373  I,      VII   |               O Moses! make for us a god as they have gods.' Said
1374  I,      VII   |                 He said, 'Other than God then do ye crave for a god,
1375  I,      VII   |           God then do ye crave for a god, when He has preferred you
1376  I,      VII   |          verily, I am the Apostle of God unto you all,'-of Him whose
1377  I,      VII   |           and the earth, there is no god but He! He quickens and
1378  I,      VII   |            He kills! believe then in God and His Apostle, the illiterate
1379  I,      VII   |             prophet,-who believes in God and in His words-then follow
1380  I,      VII   |             do ye warn a people whom God would destroy, or punish
1381  I,      VII   |          they should not say against God aught but the truth? Yet
1382  I,      VII   |       fathers associated others with God before us, and we were but
1383  I,      VII   |            it is who care not.~ ~But God's are the good names; call
1384  I,      VII   |           the earth, and what things God has created, and (see that),
1385  I,      VII   |        believe? [185] He~ ~ ./. whom God leads astray there is no
1386  I,      VII   |       knowledge thereof is only with God,'-but most folk do not know.~ ~
1387  I,      VII   |           harm for myself, save what God will. If I knew the unseen
1388  I,      VII   |            grew heavy they called on God, Lord of them both, 'Surely

1422  I,     VIII   |       believe! be not treacherous to God and His Apostle; nor be
1423  I,     VIII   |              who believe! if ye fear God He will make for you a discrimination 1,
1424  I,     VIII   |            and will forgive you; for God is Lord of mighty grace.~ ~[
1425  I,     VIII   |         forth; they were crafty, but God was crafty too, for God

1585  I,       IX   |              doers of abomination!~ ~God has promised unto the hypocrites,
1586  I,       IX   |               it is enough for them! God shall curse them, and theirs
1587  I,       IX   |             with manifest signs; for God would not wrong them, but
1588  I,       IX   |              and give alms, and obey God and His Apostle. On these
1589  I,       IX   |           His Apostle. On these will God have mercy; verily, God
1590  I,       IX   |              God have mercy; verily, God is mighty, wise!~ ~God has
1591  I,       IX   |               God is mighty, wise!~ ~God has promised to believers,
1592  I,       IX   |             Eden. But good-will from God is the greatest of all!

1601  I,       IX   |         seventy times, yet would not God forgive them; that is because
1602  I,       IX   |          because they disbelieved in God and His Apostle, for God

1604  I,       IX   |        staying behind the Apostle of God, and were averse from fighting
1605  I,       IX   |          wealth and their persons in God's way, and said, 'March

1608  I,       IX   |           their children please you, God only wishes to torment them
1609  I,       IX   |              to them, 'Believe ye in God, and fight strenuously together
