 1  I             |        see Chapter LIII, vers. 19-20.~ ~The Kaabah, or chief
 2  I             |         Mohammed's birth is April 20, 571 A.D., but all that
 3  I             |           Chapter LIII, vers. 19, 20, and when he came to the
 4  I             |        the Qur'ân, Chap. III ver. 20.~ ~Mohammed's military as
 5  I             |       they know;' and again,' VI, 20, 'Those to whom we have
 6  I             |          al-'Âlim, the Knowing.~ ~20. al-Qâbiz, the Restrainer.~ ~
 7  I,       II   |          you; haply ye may fear! [20] who made the earth for
 8  I,       II(1)|                     Exodus xxxii. 20.~ ~
 9  I,      III   |         looks on his servants.~ ~[20] Verily, those who disbelieve
10  I,       IV   |           make for them a way.~ ~[20] And if two of you commit
11  I,        V   |          on earth altogether?'~ ~[20] God's is the kingdom of
12  I,       VI   |  associating (gods with him).'~ ~[20] Those to whom we have brought
13  I,      VII   |        become of the immortals;' [20] and he swore to them both, '
14  I,     VIII   |         is with the believers!~ ~[20] O ye who believe! obey
15  I,       IX   |          not an unjust people.~ ~[20] Those who believe and who
16  I,        X   |       they associate with Him!~ ~[20] People were but one nation
17  I,       XI   |          what they were doing!~ ~[20] Is he (like them) who stands

29 II,     XXII   |          does what He pleases.~ ~[20] These are two disputants 1
30 II,     XXII(1)|          Chapter LIII, verses 19, 20, 'Have ye considered Allât
31 II,    XXIII   |     fruits, and whence ye eat.~ ~[20] And a tree growing out
32 II,     XXIV   |            but ye do not know.~ ~[20] And but for God's grace
33 II,      XXV   |           were a lost people!'~ ~[20] And now have they proved
34 II,     XXVI   |        was of those who erred.~ ~[20] 'And I fled from you when
35 II,    XXVII   |           righteous servants!'~ ~[20] And he reviewed the birds,
36 II,   XXVIII   |        you a sincere adviser!'~ ~[20] So he went forth therefrom,
37 II,     XXIX   |           is mighty over all!'~ ~[20] He torments whom He will,
38 II,      XXX   |         who are spread abroad.~ ~[20] And of His signs is this,
39 II,     XXXI   |          an illuminating book!~ ~[20] And when it is said to
40 II,    XXXII   |          which they have done!~ ~[20] But as for those who commit
41 II,   XXXIII   |         that is easy with God.~ ~[20] They reckoned that the
42 II,    XXXIV   |      party of the believers 1.~ ~[20] Yet had he no authority
43 II,     XXXV   |       unto God the journey is.~ ~[20] The blind is not equal
44 II,    XXXVI   |     people! follow the apostles; [20] follow those who do not
45 II,   XXXVII   |      behold, they shall look on, [20] and they shall say, 'O,
46 II,  XXXVIII   |          and decisive address.~ ~[20] Has there come to thee
47 II,    XXXIX   |          are endowed with minds. [20] Him against whom the word
48 II,       XL   | intercessor who shall be obeyed. [20] He knows the deceitful
49 II,      XLI   |       that which they have done. [20] And they shall say to their
50 II,     XLII   |         shall have no portion.~ ~[20] Have they associates who
51 II,    XLIII   |          they only conjecture.~ ~[20] Have we given them a book 3
52 II,     XLIV   |            that ye stone me not. [20] And if ye believe not in
53 II,      XLV   |           people who are sure.~ ~[20] Do those who commit evil
54 II,     XLVI   |           ye did abomination.'~ ~[20] Remember too the brother
55 II,    XLVII   |        the due of their piety.~ ~[20] Do they wait for aught
56 II,   XLVIII   |           God is mighty, wise!~ ~[20] God promised you many spoils
57 II,        L   |         is the threatened day!~ ~[20] And every soul shall come-with
58 II,       LI   |         kept back from asking.~ ~[20] And in the earth are signs
59 II,      LII   |           which ye have done!'~ ~[20] Reclining on couches in
60 II,     LIII   |  considered Allât and Al 'Huzzâ, [20] and Manât the other third 1?
61 II,      LIV   |           continuous ill-luck!~ ~[20] It reft men away as though
62 II,       LV   |        seas that meet together;~ [20] between them is a barrier
63 II,      LVI   |           their wits be dimmed!~ [20] And fruits such as they
64 II,     LVII   |       hereafter is a severe woe, [20] and forgiveness from God
65 II,    LVIII   |        verily, they are liars!~ ~[20] Satan hath overridden them,
66 II,      LIX   |        workers of abomination!~ ~[20] Not deemed alike shall
67 II,    LXVII   |          everything doth look.~ ~[20] Or who is this who will
68 II,   LXVIII   |       Lord the while they slept; [20] and on the morrow it was
69 II,     LXIX   |           take and read my book. [20] Verily, I thought that
70 II,      LXX   |         man is by nature rash 2! [20] when evil touches him,
71 II,     LXXI   |      therein in broad paths."'~ ~[20] Said Noah, 'My Lord! verily,
72 II,    LXXII   |      well-nigh crowded upon him. [20] Say, 'I only call upon
73 II,   LXXIII(1)|                        From verse 20 the rest of the sûrah seems
74 II,   LXXIII   |          unto his Lord a way 1.~ ~20] Verily, thy Lord knows
75 II,    LXXIV   |          killed,-how he planned! [20] Again, may he be killed,-
76 II,     LXXV   |          for us to explain it.~ ~[20] Nay, indeed, but ye love

81 II,     LXXX   |       created him and fated him; [20] then the path He did make
82 II,    LXXXI   |       speech of a noble apostle, [20]~ mighty, standing sure
83 II,  LXXXIII   |         know what 'Illiyûn is? - [20] a book inscribed! those
84 II,   LXXXIV   |         from state to state 1!~ ~[20] What ails them that they
85 II,    LXXXV   |   misbelieve do say it is a lie; [20] but God is behind them-encompassing!~ ~
86 II, LXXXVIII   |           how they are set up?~ ~[20] And at the earth how it
87 II,   LXXXIX   |          other to feed the poor, [20] and ye devour the inheritance (
88 II,       XC   |         the fellows of the left, [20] for them is fire that closes
89 II,     XCII   |          for the sake of reward, [20] but only craving the face
