Part, Sura

 1  I          |         struck,' and qatala, 'he killed,' while maẓrûb and maqtûl
 2  I          |    signify 'one struck' and 'one killed.' A sentence, therefore,
 3  I          |         for pretending that they killed Jesus, whereas they only
 4  I          |         Jesus, whereas they only killed his similitude, for God
 5  I          |      prophet; but they are to be killed wherever found when the
 6  I          |           he fears lest he maybe killed for slaying the Egyptian.
 7  I,       II|   misbelieved in God's signs and killed the prophets undeservedly;
 8  I,       II|     permission of God, and David killed Gâlût, and God gave him
 9  I,      III|       time; what if he die or is killed, will ye retreat upon your
10  I,      III|          affair we should not be killed here.' Say, 'If ye were
11  I,      III|        not died and had not been killed.' It was that God might
12  I,      III|            And if, indeed, ye be killed in God's way or die, surely
13  I,      III|      gather; and if ye die or be killed it is to God ye shall be
14  I,      III|       would not have~ ~ ./. been killed.' Say, 'Ward off from yourselves
15  I,      III|          Count not those who are killed in the way of God as dead,
16  I,      III|          they said, and how they killed the prophets undeservedly,
17  I,      III|          and who fought and were killed, I will cover their offences,
18  I,       IV|        in God's way, then, be he killed or be he victorious, we
19  I,       IV|         saying, 'Verily, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus the son
20  I,        V|           it is as though he had killed men altogether; but whoso
21  I,        V|        like of that which he has killed, in sheep-of which two equitable
22  I,      VII|        weakened me and well-nigh killed me; make not then mine enemies
23 II,    XVIII|     until they met a boy, and he killed him. And he (Moses) said, '
24 II,    XVIII|          Moses) said, 'Hast thou killed a pure person without (his
25 II,   XXVIII|          My Lord! verily, I have killed a person amongst them, and
26 II,       XL|        say, 'Our Lord! Thou hast killed us twice, and Thou hast

28 II,    LXXIV|   planned! [20] Again, may he be killed,-how he planned! Then he
29 II,     LXXX|  righteous scribes!~ ~May man be killed! how ungrateful he is!~ ~
