   1  I             |             high-soaring cranes, and, verily, their intercession may
   2  I,       II   |               are the prosperous. [5] Verily, those who misbelieve, it
   3  I,       II   |              hearing and their sight; verily, God is mighty over all.~ ~
   4  I,       II   |               thyself hast taught us, verily, Thou art the knowing, the
   5  I,       II   |               and had transgressed.~ ~Verily, whether it be of those
   6  I,       II   |           stones or harder still, for verily of stones are some from
   7  I,       II   |              and Gabriel and Michael?-Verily, God is an enemy to the
   8  I,       II   |               God brings His command; verily, God is mighty over all.~ ~
   9  I,       II   |             turn there is God's face; verily, God comprehends and knows.~ ~[
  10  I,       II   |             fulfilled them, He said, 'Verily, I will set thee as a high
  11  I,       II   |             Lord! receive it from us, verily, thou art hearing and dost
  12  I,       II   |           rites, and turn towards us, verily, Thou art easy to be turned
  13  I,       II   |           wisdom, and to purify them; verily, Thou art the mighty and
  14  I,       II   |           Jacob (saying), 'O my sons! verily, God has chosen for you
  15  I,       II   |             not waste your faith, for verily, God with men is kind and
  16  I,       II   |            your faces towards it; for verily, those who have the Book
  17  I,       II   |             bring you all together 2; verily, God is mighty over all.~ ~
  18  I,       II   |             patience and from prayer, verily, God is with the patient.
  19  I,       II   |              on them a calamity say, 'Verily, we are God's and, verily,
  20  I,       II   |             Verily, we are God's and, verily, to Him do we return 1.'
  21  I,       II   |               it is who are guided.~ ~Verily, Zafâ and Merwah 2 are of
  22  I,       II   |             grateful and doth know.~ ~Verily, those who hide what we
  23  I,       II   |             be turned and merciful.~ ~Verily, those who misbelieve and
  24  I,       II   |        merciful, the compassionate.~ ~Verily, in the creation of the
  25  I,       II   |            power is altogether God's! Verily, God is keen to torment.~ ~
  26  I,       II   |               the footsteps of Satan, verily, to you he is an open foe.
  27  I,       II   |              it is in no sin for him; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
  28  I,       II   |             forgiving and merciful.~ ~Verily, those who hide what God
  29  I,       II   |              the Book with truth, and verily those who disagree about
  30  I,       II   |              upon those who alter it; verily, God doth hear and know.~ ~
  31  I,       II   |         parties, it is no sin to him; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
  32  I,       II   |             thee concerning me, then, verily, I am near; I answer the
  33  I,       II   |            you, but transgress 3 not; verily, God loves not those who
  34  I,       II   |             But if they desist, then, verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
  35  I,       II   |          forth and ask pardon of God; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
  36  I,       II   |              the tilth and the stock; verily, God loves not evil doing.
  37  I,       II   |               the footsteps of Satan; verily, to you he is an open foe. [
  38  I,       II   |            and whatsoever good ye do, verily, of it God knows.'~ ~Prescribed
  39  I,       II   |              therein for aye.~ ~[215] Verily, those who believe, and
  40  I,       II   |            will surely trouble you 5. Verily, God is mighty, wise.~ ~ ./. 
  41  I,       II   |            where God has ordered you; verily, God loves those who turn
  42  I,       II   |               intend to divorce them, verily, God hears and knows.~ ~
  43  I,       II   |               liberality between you. Verily, God on what ye do doth
  44  I,       II   |               quickened them again 2? Verily, God is Lord of grace to
  45  I,       II   |          their prophet said to them, 'Verily, God has raised up for you
  46  I,       II   |       amplitude of wealth?' He said, 'Verily, God has chosen him over
  47  I,       II   |           them to thee in truth, for, verily, thou art of those who are
  48  I,       II   |            death.' Abraham said, 'But verily, God brings the sun from
  49  I,       II   |             any sinful misbeliever.~ ~Verily, those who believe, and
  50  I,       II   |               for he who conceals it, verily, sinful is his heart: God
  51  I,      III   |        revealed the Discrimination.~ ~Verily, those who disbelieve in
  52  I,      III   |             is mighty and avenging.~ ~Verily, God, there is nothing hidden
  53  I,      III   |              day wherein is no doubt. Verily, God will not depart from
  54  I,      III   |           depart from His promise.'~ ~Verily, those who misbelieve, their
  55  I,      III   |               those whom He pleases.' Verily, in that is a lesson for
  56  I,      III   |               the mighty, the wise.~ ~Verily, (the true) religion in
  57  I,      III   |               on his servants.~ ~[20] Verily, those who disbelieve in
  58  I,      III   |        pleasest; in Thy hand is good. Verily, Thou art mighty over all.
  59  I,      III   |             not misbelievers.'~ ~[30] Verily, God has chosen Adam, and
  60  I,      III   |              receive it then from me. Verily, Thou dost hear and know.'
  61  I,      III   |           brought it forth she said, 'Verily, I have brought it forth
  62  I,      III   |             me from Thee a good seed. Verily, Thou hearest prayer.' And
  63  I,      III   |             the angels said, 'O Mary! verily, God has chosen thee, and
  64  I,      III   |              the angel said, 'O Mary! verily, God gives thee the glad
  65  I,      III   |              store up in your houses. Verily, in that is a sign for you
  66  I,      III   |               of the wise reminder 4. Verily, the likeness of Jesus~ ~ ./. 
  67  I,      III   |             on those who lie.'~ ~[55] Verily, those are the true stories,
  68  I,      III   |               is no god but God, and, verily, God He is the mighty, the
  69  I,      III   |             and not of the idolaters. Verily, the people most worthy
  70  I,      III   |               your religion.'~ ~Say, 'Verily, the (true) guidance is
  71  I,      III   |               his covenant and fears,-verily, God loves those who fear.
  72  I,      III   |               is grievous woe.~ ~And, verily, amongst them is a sect
  73  I,      III   |             that, and act aright, for verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
  74  I,      III   |             forgiving and merciful.~ ~Verily, those who misbelieve after
  75  I,      III   |             are those who err.~ ~[85] Verily, those who misbelieve and
  76  I,      III   |             of the idolaters.'~ ~[90] Verily, the first House founded
  77  I,      III   |               knows those who fear.~ ~Verily, those who misbelieve, their
  78  I,      III   |            again or punish them; for, verily, they are unjust.~ ~God'
  79  I,      III   |                    the affair?' Say, 'Verily, the affair is God's.' They
  80  I,      III   |           nature of men's breasts.'~ ~Verily, those of you who turned
  81  I,      III   |            God has now pardoned them; verily, God is forgiving and clement.~ ~[
  82  I,      III   |              resolved, rely upon God; verily, God loves those who do
  83  I,      III   |                It is from yourselves. Verily, God is mighty over all.'~ ~[
  84  I,      III   |               To whom when men said, 'Verily, men have gathered round
  85  I,      III   |              each other in misbelief. Verily, they cannot hurt God at
  86  I,      III   |             for them is mighty woe.~ ~Verily, those who purchase misbelief
  87  I,      III   |            speech of those who said, 'Verily, God is poor 1 and we are
  88  I,      III   |             have sent on before;-for, verily, God is no unjust one to
  89  I,      III   |               His servants,-who say, 'Verily, God has covenanted with
  90  I,      III   |               ye be patient and fear,-verily, that is one of the determined
  91  I,      III   |             God is mighty over all!~ ~Verily, in the creation of the
  92  I,      III   |            torment of the fire! Lord! verily, whomsoever Thou hast made
  93  I,      III   |             help them.~ ~[190] 'Lord! verily, we heard a crier calling
  94  I,      III   |            the resurrection day; for, verily, Thou dost not break Thy
  95  I,      III   |             best for the righteous.~ ~Verily, of the people of the Book
  96  I,      III   |               reward with their Lord; verily, God is quick at reckoning
  97  I,       IV   |               another, and the wombs; verily, God over you doth watch 2.~ ~
  98  I,       IV   |        property to your own property; verily, that were a great sin.
  99  I,       IV   |               straightforward speech. Verily, those who devour the property
 100  I,       IV   |              ordinance this from God; verily, God is knowing and wise!
 101  I,       IV   |              amend, leave them alone, verily, God is easily turned, compassionate.~ ~
 102  I,       IV   |              sisters,-except bygones,-verily, God is forgiving, merciful;
 103  I,       IV   |            you after such lawful due, verily, God is knowing and wise.~ ~
 104  I,       IV   |               do not kill yourselves; verily, God is compassionate unto
 105  I,       IV   |                ask God for His grace, verily, God knows all.~ ~To every
 106  I,       IV   |              them their portion, for, verily, God is over all a witness.~ ~
 107  I,       IV   |              seek a way against them; verily, God is high and great.~ ~
 108  I,       IV   |            will arrange between them; verily, God is knowing and aware.~ ~[
 109  I,       IV   |           your right hands possess 2, verily, God loves not him who is
 110  I,       IV   |               God knows about them.~ ~Verily, God would not wrong by
 111  I,       IV   |             and your hands therewith; verily, God pardons and forgives.~ ~
 112  I,       IV   |             God's command was done.~ ~Verily, God pardons not associating
 113  I,       IV   |            flaming enough for them.~ ~Verily, those who disbelieve in
 114  I,       IV   |           they may taste the torment. Verily, God is glorious and wise.~ ~[
 115  I,       IV   |             enter into a shady shade. Verily, God bids you pay your trusts
 116  I,       IV   |            men to judge with justice. Verily, God, excellent is what
 117  I,       IV   |               He admonishes you with; verily, God both hears and sees.~ ~
 118  I,       IV   |            detachments or altogether. Verily, there is of you who tarries
 119  I,       IV   |         against the friends of Satan, verily, Satan's tricks are weak.~ ~
 120  I,       IV   |         better than it, or return it;-verily, God of all things takes
 121  I,       IV   |                be ye then discerning; verily, God of what ye do is well
 122  I,       IV   |             forgiving and merciful.~ ~Verily, the angels when they took
 123  I,       IV   |         disbelieve will set upon you; verily, the misbelievers are your
 124  I,       IV   |            but take your precautions,-verily, God has prepared for those
 125  I,       IV   |               be steadfast in prayer; verily, prayer is for the believers
 126  I,       IV   |               God is knowing, wise.~ ~Verily, we have revealed to thee
 127  I,       IV   |      disputant; but ask God's pardon: verily, God is forgiving, merciful.~ ~
 128  I,       IV   |            bad journey shall it be.~ ~Verily, God forgives not associating
 129  I,       IV   |            hath erred a wide error.~ ~Verily, they call not beside Him
 130  I,       IV   |               and what ye do of good, verily, that God knows.'~ ~And
 131  I,       IV   |            God;-but if ye misbelieve, verily, God's is what is in the
 132  I,       IV   |             has erred a wide error.~ ~Verily, those who believe and then
 133  I,       IV   |               crave honour from them? Verily, honour is altogether God'
 134  I,       IV   |           into another discourse, for verily, then ye would be like them.
 135  I,       IV   |           then ye would be like them. Verily, God will gather the hypocrites
 136  I,       IV   |              way against believers.~ ~Verily, the hypocrites seek to
 137  I,       IV   |            God a power against you?~ ~Verily, the hypocrites are in the
 138  I,       IV   |              hide it, or pardon evil, verily, God is pardoning and powerful!~ ~
 139  I,       IV   |             pardoning and powerful!~ ~Verily, those who disbelieve in
 140  I,       IV   |                and for their saying, 'Verily, we have killed the Messiah,
 141  I,       IV   |     similitude was made for them. And verily, those who differ about
 142  I,       IV   |            will give a mighty hire.~ ~Verily, we have inspired thee as
 143  I,       IV   |               witness enough.~ ~[165] Verily, those who misbelieve and
 144  I,       IV   |            have erred a wide error.~ ~Verily, those who misbelieve and
 145  I,        V   |           while ye are on pilgrimage; verily, God ordaineth what He will.~ ~
 146  I,        V   |             and enmity; but fear God,-verily, God is keen to punish.~ ~
 147  I,        V   |             inclined wilfully to sin, verily, God is forgiving, compassionate.~ ~
 148  I,        V   |            over it, and fear God, for verily, God is swift in reckoning
 149  I,        V   |             we obey 1;' and fear God, verily, God knows the nature of
 150  I,        V   |               wardens; and God said, 'Verily, I am with you, if ye be
 151  I,        V   |            pardon them and shun them; verily, God loves the kind.~ ~And
 152  I,        V   |                And of those who say, 'Verily, we are Christians,' we
 153  I,        V   |             They misbelieve who say, 'Verily, God is the Messiah the
 154  I,        V   |              25] They said, 'O Moses! verily, therein is a people, giants;
 155  I,        V   |              when ye have entered it, verily, ye shall be victorious;
 156  I,        V   |              Lord and fight ye twain; verily, we will sit down here.'
 157  I,        V   |             here.' Said he, 'My Lord, verily, I can control only myself
 158  I,        V   |              people.' He said, 'Then, verily, it is forbidden them; for
 159  I,        V   |               mine hand to kill thee; verily, I fear God the Lord of
 160  I,        V   |               the Lord of the worlds; verily, I wish that thou mayest
 161  I,        V   |            with manifest signs; then, verily, many of them did after
 162  I,        V   |             will prosper then.~ ~[40] Verily, those who disbelieve, even
 163  I,        V   |            injustice and acts aright, verily, God will turn to him, for,
 164  I,        V   |            God will turn to him, for, verily, God is forgiving, merciful.~ ~
 165  I,        V   |            between them with justice, verily, God loves the just. But
 166  I,        V   |            for they do not believe.~ ~Verily, we have revealed the law
 167  I,        V   |              for some sins of theirs,-verily, many men are evildoers.~ ~[
 168  I,        V   |               takes them for patrons, verily, he is of them, and, verily,
 169  I,        V   |           verily, he is of them, and, verily, God guides not an unjust
 170  I,        V   |       apostles and those who believe;-verily, God's crew, they are victorious!~ ~
 171  I,        V   |              people who misbelieve.~ ~Verily, those who believe and those
 172  I,        V   |             They misbelieve who say, 'Verily, God is the Messiah the
 173  I,        V   |               my Lord and your Lord,' verily, he who associates aught
 174  I,        V   |             They misbelieve who say, 'Verily, God is the third of three;'
 175  I,        V   |              for you, nor transgress; verily, God loves not the transgressors.~ ~[
 176  I,        V   |         grateful.~ ~O ye who believe! verily, wine, and el mâisar 2,
 177  I,        V   |              we hide God's testimony, verily, then, we should be among
 178  I,        V   |                 We have no knowledge; verily, thou art He who knoweth
 179  I,        V   |         providers.'~ ~[115] God said, Verily, I am about to send it down
 180  I,        V   |               amongst you after that, verily, I will torment him with
 181  I,        V   |              not what is in Thy soul; verily, Thou art one who knoweth
 182  I,        V   |           Thou shouldst, punish them, verily, they are Thy servants;
 183  I,        V   |           Thou shouldst forgive them, verily, Thou art the mighty and
 184  I,       VI   |              says His signs are lies? verily, the unjust shall not prosper.~ ~ ./. 
 185  I,       VI   |                Full well we know that verily that which they say grieves
 186  I,       VI   |             sign from his Lord'-say, 'Verily, God is able to send down
 187  I,       VI   |         prescribed for Himself mercy; verily, he of you who does evil
 188  I,       VI   |           turns again and does right,-verily, He is forgiving and merciful.'~ ~[
 189  I,       VI   |        guidance, "Come to us?"' Say, 'Verily, God's guidance is the guidance,
 190  I,       VI   |             thou take idols for gods? verily, I see thee and thy people
 191  I,       VI   |            set he said, 'O my people! verily, I am clear of what ye associate
 192  I,       VI   |           what ye associate with God; verily, I have turned my face to
 193  I,       VI   |             the rank of whom we will; verily, thy Lord is wise and knowing.
 194  I,       VI   |               ye did pretend.'~ ~[95] Verily, God it is who cleaves out
 195  I,       VI   |            when it fruits and ripens! verily, in that ye have a sign
 196  I,       VI   |           what ye are forced to; but, verily, many will lead you astray
 197  I,       VI   |           fancies, without knowledge. Verily, thy Lord knows best the
 198  I,       VI   |               and the inside thereof; verily, those who earn sin shall
 199  I,       VI   |            been pronounced over, for, verily, it is an abomination. Verily,
 200  I,       VI   |         verily, it is an abomination. Verily, the devils inspire their
 201  I,       VI   |             you; but if ye obey them, verily, ye are idolaters.~ ~Is
 202  I,       VI   |                save what God pleases; verily, thy Lord is wise and knowing.'~ ~
 203  I,       VI   |               seed of other people.~ ~Verily, what ye are promised will
 204  I,       VI   |              according to your power, verily, I am acting too; and soon
 205  I,       VI   |             the future of the abode!' verily, the unjust shall not prosper.~ ~
 206  I,       VI   |           them for their attribution; verily, He is wise and knowing.~ ~
 207  I,       VI   |               and be not extravagant; verily, He loves not the extravagant.~ ~
 208  I,       VI   |               the footsteps of Satan; verily, he is to you an open foe.~ ~
 209  I,       VI   |             astray without knowledge? verily, God guides not the unjust
 210  I,       VI   |              nor transgressing,-then, verily, thy Lord is forgiving and
 211  I,       VI   |             for their rebellion, for, verily, we are true.~ ~And if they
 212  I,       VI   |              haply ye may be mindful. Verily, this is my right way; follow
 213  I,       VI   |               to two sects before us; verily, we, for what they read,
 214  I,       VI   |               expectant too.'~ ~[160] Verily, those who divided their
 215  I,       VI   |               the idolaters.'~ ~Say, 'Verily, my prayers and my devotion
 216  I,       VI   |             which he has brought you;-verily, thy Lord is swift to punish,
 217  I,       VI   |              is swift to punish, but, verily, He is forgiving and merciful.~ ~ ./. 
 218  I,      VII   |               them, was only to say, 'Verily, we were unjust!' [5] But
 219  I,      VII   |              pride therein? go forth! verily, thou art of the little
 220  I,      VII   |           shall be raised.' He said, 'Verily, thou art of the respited;' [
 221  I,      VII   |               he swore to them both, 'Verily, I am unto you a sincere
 222  I,      VII   |           tree there, and say to you, Verily, Satan is to you an open
 223  I,      VII   |             showing them their shame; verily, he sees you-he and his
 224  I,      VII   |            whence ye cannot see them. Verily, we have made the devils
 225  I,      VII   |           sect of them was error due; verily, they did take the devils
 226  I,      VII   |              it on.~ ~O sons of Adam! verily, there will come to you
 227  I,      VII   |              which ye have earned!'~ ~Verily, those who say our signs
 228  I,      VII   |             strayed away from them.~ ~Verily, your Lord is God who created
 229  I,      VII   |             Lord humbly and secretly, verily, He loves not the transgressors.
 230  I,      VII   |            with fear and earnestness; verily, the mercy of God is nigh
 231  I,      VII   |               ye have no god but Him; verily, I fear for you the torment
 232  I,      VII   |            the chiefs of his people, 'Verily,~ ~ ./. we do surely see
 233  I,      VII   |             said our signs were lies, verily, they were a blind people.~ ~
 234  I,      VII   |      misbelieved amongst his people, 'Verily, we see thee in folly, and,
 235  I,      VII   |               see thee in folly, and, verily, we certainly think thou
 236  I,      VII   |           messages of your Lord; and, verily, I am to you a faithful
 237  I,      VII   |             who were big with pride, 'Verily, in what ye do believe we
 238  I,      VII   |              ever anticipated you in? verily, ye approach men with lust
 239  I,      VII   |             them out of your village, verily, they are a people who pretend
 240  I,      VII   |                If ye follow Sho'hâib, verily, ye shall be the losers;'
 241  I,      VII   |               Moses said, 'O Pharaoh! verily, I am an apostle from the
 242  I,      VII   |           chiefs of Pharaoh's people, Verily, this is surely a knowing
 243  I,      VII   |              altogether!' They said, 'Verily, we unto our Lord return!
 244  I,      VII   |          women we will let live, for, verily, we are triumphant over
 245  I,      VII   |              from God and be patient; verily, the earth is God's! He
 246  I,      VII   |             has covenanted with thee; verily, if thou dost remove the
 247  I,      VII   |            they have gods.' Said he, 'Verily, ye are ignorant people.' [
 248  I,      VII   |               ignorant people.' [135] Verily, these-destroyed shall be
 249  I,      VII   |       resigned.'~ ~He said, 'O Moses! verily, I have chosen thee over
 250  I,      VII   |              gone astray, they said, 'Verily, if our Lord have not compassion
 251  I,      VII   |            said, 'O son of my mother! verily, the people~ ~ ./. weakened
 252  I,      VII   |             merciful of the merciful. Verily, these have taken to themselves
 253  I,      VII   |               after them and believe,-verily, thy Lord, after that, is
 254  I,      VII   |                and in the future too; verily, we are guided unto Thee.'
 255  I,      VII   |       prosperous.'~ ~Say, 'O ye folk! verily, I am the Apostle of God
 256  I,      VII   |              wreak them evil torment; verily, thy Lord is quick at following
 257  I,      VII   |           quick at following up, but, verily, He is forgiving, merciful.~ ~
 258  I,      VII   |             the day of resurrection, 'Verily, for this we did not care;'
 259  I,      VII   |               did not care;' or say, 'Verily, our fathers associated
 260  I,      VII   |                I will let them range;-verily, my stratagem is efficacious!~ ~
 261  I,      VII   |              and do not wait.~ ~[195] Verily, my patron is God, who hath
 262  I,      VII   |              then seek refuge in God: verily, He both hears and knows.~ ~[
 263  I,      VII   |              hears and knows.~ ~[200] Verily, those who fear God, if
 264  I,      VII   |          those who do not care. [205] Verily, they who are with my Lord
 265  I,     VIII   |          Apostle if ye do believe.'~ ~Verily, the believers are those
 266  I,     VIII   |             victory is only from God! verily, God is mighty and wise.~ ~
 267  I,     VIII   |           Lord inspired the angels - 'Verily, I am with you; make ye
 268  I,     VIII   |          Himself with a goodly trial; verily, God both hears and knows.
 269  I,     VIII   |              hears and knows. There I verily, God weakens the stratagem
 270  I,     VIII   |              and yet they hear not.~ ~Verily, the worst of beasts in
 271  I,     VIII   |             we could speak like this; verily, this is nothing but tales
 272  I,     VIII   |            for that ye misbelieved!~ ~Verily, those who misbelieve expend
 273  I,     VIII   |            with a manifest sign; for, verily, God hears and knows!~ ~[
 274  I,     VIII   |                but God preserved you; verily, He knows the nature of
 275  I,     VIII   |               you; but be ye patient, verily, God is with the patient.
 276  I,     VIII   |              conquer you to-day, for, verily, I am your neighbour!' and
 277  I,     VIII   |             upon his heels and said, 'Verily, I am clear of you! verily,
 278  I,     VIII   |            Verily, I am clear of you! verily, I see what you see not 1!
 279  I,     VIII   |               see what you see not 1! verily, I fear God, for God is
 280  I,     VIII   |               he who relies upon God, verily, God is mighty and wise.'~ ~
 281  I,     VIII   |          overtook them in their sins; verily, God is strong and keen
 282  I,     VIII   |               them were evil-doers.~ ~Verily, the worst of beasts in
 283  I,     VIII   |               to them in like manner; verily, God loves not the treacherous.
 284  I,     VIII   |               who misbelieve can win; verily, they cannot make (God)
 285  I,     VIII   |               too, and rely upon God; verily, He both hears and knows.~ ~
 286  I,     VIII   |              but God reconciled them, verily, He is mighty and wise!~ ~[
 287  I,     VIII   |               and good; and fear God, verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~[
 288  I,     VIII   |               God is knowing, wise!~ ~Verily, those who believe and have
 289  I,     VIII   |               kin by the Book of God. Verily, God all things doth know.~ ~ ~ ~
 290  I,       IX   |           time agreed upon with them; verily, God loves those who fear.~ ~[
 291  I,       IX   |           then let them go their way; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
 292  I,       IX   |             by you, stand ye by them; verily, God loves those who fear.~ ~
 293  I,       IX   |               turn folk from His way; verily, they-evil is that which
 294  I,       IX   |             the leaders of misbelief; verily, they have no faith, haply
 295  I,       IX   |             to dwell therein for aye! Verily, God, with Him is mighty
 296  I,       IX   |            from His grace if He will; verily, God is knowing, wise!~ ~
 297  I,       IX   |               be!~ ~O ye who believe! verily, many of the doctors and
 298  I,       IX   |            then what ye stored up!'~ ~Verily, the number of months with
 299  I,       IX   |             is with those who fear.~ ~Verily, putting off is but an increase
 300  I,       IX   |             his comrade, 'Grieve not, verily, God is with us;' and God
 301  I,       IX   |             not be accepted from you; verily, ye are a people who do
 302  I,       IX   |               They swear by God that, verily, they are of you; but they
 303  I,       IX   |              and so will His Apostle; verily, unto God is our desire!'~ ~[
 304  I,       IX   |          their hearts; say, 'Mock ye! verily, God will bring forth that
 305  I,       IX   |              God and He forgets them! Verily, the hypocrites, they are
 306  I,       IX   |            these will God have mercy; verily, God is mighty, wise!~ ~
 307  I,       IX   |             ever fight a foe with me! verily, ye were content to sit
 308  I,       IX   |            and stand not by his tomb; verily, they disbelieved in God
 309  I,       IX   |              ye aside then from them; verily, they are a plague, and
 310  I,       IX   |            them enter into His mercy; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
 311  I,       IX   |              will turn again to them; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~ ./. 
 312  I,       IX   |           thereby; and pray for them; verily, thy prayer is a repose
 313  I,       IX   |               God is knowing, wise.~ ~Verily, God hath bought of the
 314  I,       IX   |              cleansed himself of him; verily, Abraham was pitiful and
 315  I,       IX   |              which they have to fear; verily, God all things doth know.~ ~
 316  I,       IX   |               all things doth know.~ ~Verily, God's is the kingdom of
 317  I,       IX   |             Then He turned unto them; verily to them He is kind and merciful:-
 318  I,       IX   |            that they might also turn; verily, God, He is easily turned
 319  I,       IX   |           being written down to them; verily, God wastes not the hire
 320  I,        X   |                The misbelievers say, 'Verily, this is an obvious sorcerer!'~ ~
 321  I,        X   |               an obvious sorcerer!'~ ~Verily, your Lord is God, who created
 322  I,        X   |           you-God's promise in truth; verily, He produces the creature,
 323  I,        X   |               a people who do know.~ ~Verily, in the alternation of night
 324  I,        X   |               a people who do fear.~ ~Verily, those who hope not for
 325  I,        X   |             which they have earned!~ ~Verily, those who believe and do
 326  I,        X   |              what I am inspired with; verily, I fear, if I rebel against
 327  I,        X   |              says His signs are lies? verily, the sinners shall not prosper.~ ~
 328  I,        X   |              but wait ye for a while, verily, I with you am one of those
 329  I,        X   |             is quicker at stratagem.' Verily, our messengers 1 write
 330  I,        X   |            which ye have done!~ ~[25] Verily, the likeness of this world'
 331  I,        X   |               who commit abomination; verily, they will not believe.
 332  I,        X   |           them follow only suspicion; verily, suspicion does not avail
 333  I,        X   |             against the truth at all; verily, God knows what they do.~ ~
 334  I,        X   |               they cannot see?~ ~[45] Verily, God wrongs not man at all,
 335  I,        X   |                Say, 'Aye, by my Lord! verily, it is the truth, nor can
 336  I,        X   |              on the resurrection day? Verily, God is Lord of grace towards
 337  I,        X   |          perspicuous Book.~ ~Are not, verily, the friends of God those
 338  I,        X   |             their speech grieve thee; verily, power is wholly God's!
 339  I,        X   |            hears and knows.~ ~Is not, verily, whoever is in the heavens
 340  I,        X   |          associates other than God?~ ~Verily, they follow nothing but
 341  I,        X   |            nothing but suspicion, and verily, they are telling naught
 342  I,        X   |               the day to see therein; verily, in that are. signs unto
 343  I,        X   |             do not know?~ ~[70] Say, 'Verily, those who forge against
 344  I,        X   |               them from us they said, verily, 'This is obvious sorcery.'~ ~
 345  I,        X   |              have brought is sorcery! verily, God will make~ ~ ./. it
 346  I,        X   |             will make~ ~ ./. it vain; verily, God rights not the work
 347  I,        X   |              should afflict them, for verily, Pharaoh was lofty in the
 348  I,        X   |               lofty in the earth, and verily, he was extravagant.~ ~And
 349  I,        X   |              Moses said, 'O our Lord! verily, Thou hast brought to Pharaoh
 350  I,        X   |           come after thee a sign, for verily, many men are careless of
 351  I,        X   |           came to them the knowledge. Verily, thy Lord shall decide between
 352  I,        X   |             read the Book before thee verily, the truth is come to thee
 353  I,        X   |               of those who lose! [95] Verily, those against whom God'
 354  I,        X   |            them?' Say, 'Wait ye then! verily, I am with you one of those
 355  I,        X   |               thee; for if thou dost, verily, thou art then of the unjust!'~ ~
 356  I,       XI   |           worship not other than God,-verily, I am to you from Him a
 357  I,       XI   |               all.~ ~[5] Do they not, verily, fold up their breasts,
 358  I,       XI   |        conceal and what they display? verily, He knows the nature of
 359  I,       XI   |           then strip it off from him, verily, he is despairing, ungrateful;
 360  I,       XI   |              have gone away from me;' verily, then he is joyful and boasting.
 361  I,       XI   |               thou in doubt about it; verily, it is truth from thy Lord,
 362  I,       XI   |            are those who lose!~ ~[25] Verily, those who believe and do
 363  I,       XI   |           send Noah unto his people, 'Verily, I am to you an obvious
 364  I,       XI   |             not worship any save God. Verily, I fear for you the torment
 365  I,       XI   |            repulse those who believe; verily, they shall meet their Lord.
 366  I,       XI   |            the unseen; nor do I say, "Verily, I am an angel;" nor do
 367  I,       XI   |            those who have done wrong; verily, they shall be drowned.~ ~[
 368  I,       XI   |            Said he, If ye jest at us, verily, we shall jest at you even
 369  I,       XI   |              course, and its mooring. Verily, my Lord is forgiving and
 370  I,       XI   |              Lord and said, 'My Lord, verily, my son is of my people,
 371  I,       XI   |             son is of my people, and, verily, Thy promise is true, and
 372  I,       XI   |              he is not of thy people; verily, it is a work that is not
 373  I,       XI   |            which thou knowest naught. Verily, I admonish thee that thou
 374  I,       XI   |         ignorant.' He said, 'My Lord, verily, I seek refuge in Thee from
 375  I,       XI   |               this. Be patient, then; verily, the issue is for those
 376  I,       XI   |            thee with evil.' Said he, 'Verily, I call God to witness,
 377  I,       XI   |     altogether, and give me no delay. Verily, I rely upon God, my Lord
 378  I,       XI   |            taketh it by its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the right
 379  I,       XI   |               cannot harm Him at all; verily, my Lord is guardian over
 380  I,       XI   |               then turn again to Him: verily, my Lord is nigh and answers!'~ ~[
 381  I,       XI   |               our fathers worshipped? verily, we are in hesitating doubt
 382  I,       XI   |               disgrace upon that day. Verily, thy Lord He is powerful
 383  I,       XI   |           them. They said, 'Fear not. Verily, we are sent unto the people
 384  I,       XI   |           husband of mine an old man? Verily, this is a wonderful thing!'
 385  I,       XI   |               ye people of the house! Verily, He is to be praised and
 386  I,       XI   |              about the people of Lot; verily, Abraham was clement, pitiful,
 387  I,       XI   |                O Abraham! avoid this; verily, the bidding of thy Lord
 388  I,       XI   |         bidding of thy Lord has come; verily, there is coming to them
 389  I,       XI   |               claim on thy daughters; verily, thou knowest what we want!'
 390  I,       XI   |             The angels) said, 'O Lot! verily, we are the messengers of
 391  I,       XI   |           look round except thy wife: verily, there shall befall her
 392  I,       XI   |         befall her what befalls them. Verily, their appointment is for
 393  I,       XI   |             short measure and weight. Verily, I see you well off; but,
 394  I,       XI   |              I see you well off; but, verily, I fear for you the torments
 395  I,       XI   |               Lord, then turn to Him; verily, my Lord is merciful, loving!~ ~
 396  I,       XI   |               cast behind your backs? Verily, my Lord, whate'er ye do,
 397  I,       XI   |              according to your power; verily, I too will act, and ye
 398  I,       XI   |            who is a liar. Watch then; verily, I with you am watching
 399  I,       XI   |          cities that have done wrong; verily, His over-taking is grievous,
 400  I,       XI   |               grievous, keen.~ ~[105] Verily, in that is a sign to him
 401  I,       XI   |              save what thy Lord will. Verily, thy Lord is one who works
 402  I,       XI   |             decided between them but, verily, they are (still) in hesitating
 403  I,       XI   |           doubt concerning it.~ ~But, verily, every one thy Lord will
 404  I,       XI   |         surely repay for their works; verily, He of what they do is well
 405  I,       XI   |                and transgress ye not:-verily, He on what ye do doth look.~ ~[
 406  I,       XI   |           latter) parts of the night. Verily, good works remove evil
 407  I,       XI   |              according to your power, verily, we are acting too! And
 408  I,       XI   |              acting too! And wait ye, verily, we are waiting too!'~ ~
 409  I,      XII   |              of the perspicuous Book. Verily, we have revealed it, an
 410  I,      XII   |               his father, 'O my sire! verily, I saw eleven stars, and
 411  I,      XII   |             plot a plot against thee; verily, the devil is to man an
 412  I,      XII   |              thee, Abraham and Isaac,-verily, thy Lord is knowing, wise!~ ~
 413  I,      XII   |              a band 1 although we be; verily, our father is in obvious
 414  I,      XII   |               revel and to play, and, verily, we over him will keep good
 415  I,      XII   |              good guard.'~ ~Said he, 'Verily, it grieves me that ye should
 416  I,      XII   |           while we are (such) a band, verily. we then should deserve
 417  I,      XII   |          weeping said, 'O our father! verily, we went forth to race and
 418  I,      XII   |              Said he, 'Refuge in God! verily, my Lord has made good my
 419  I,      XII   |            made good my abiding here; verily, the wrong-doers shall not
 420  I,      XII   |             and fornication from him; verily, he was of our sincere servants.~ ~[
 421  I,      XII   |           This is one of your tricks; verily, your tricks are mighty!
 422  I,      XII   |             ask pardon for thy fault; verily, thou wert of the sinners.'~ ~[
 423  I,      XII   |             infatuated her with love: verily, we see her in obvious error.'
 424  I,      XII   |            from him their craftiness; verily, He both hears and knows!~ ~[
 425  I,      XII   |               men. Said one of them, 'Verily, I see myself 1 pressing
 426  I,      XII   |           wine.' And the other said, 'Verily, I see myself bearing on
 427  I,      XII   |               interpretation thereof; verily, we see that thou art of
 428  I,      XII   |           what my Lord has taught me; verily, I have left the faith of
 429  I,      XII   |                  Then said the king, 'Verily, I see seven fat kine which
 430  I,      XII   |         remembering after a while, - 'Verily, I will inform you of the
 431  I,      XII   |            women who cut their hands? Verily, my lord knows their craftiness!"'~ ~
 432  I,      XII   |               him for his person and, verily, he is of those who tell
 433  I,      XII   |             my Lord has had mercy on; verily, my Lord is forgiving and
 434  I,      XII   |             spoken with him he said, 'Verily, to-day thou art with us
 435  I,      XII   |            the treasures of the land; verily, I will be a knowing keeper.'~ ~
 436  I,      XII   |              we may get measure, and, verily, him we will keep!'~ ~He
 437  I,      XII   |              which it fulfilled; for, verily, he was possessed of knowledge,
 438  I,      XII   |             stay with him, and said, 'Verily, I am thy brother-then take
 439  I,      XII   |             cried out, 'O ye caravan! verily, ye are thieves!'~ ~They
 440  I,      XII   |                 They said, 'O prince! Verily, he has a father, a very
 441  I,      XII   |             one of us instead of him; verily, we can see that thou art
 442  I,      XII   |           whom we found our property; verily, we should then be certainly
 443  I,      XII   |               and say, "O our father! verily, thy son has committed theft,
 444  I,      XII   |          which we approached it, for, verily, we tell the truth.'~ ~Said
 445  I,      XII   |            give me them all together;-verily, He is knowing, wise.'~ ~
 446  I,      XII   |            not of God's comfort; for, verily, none need despair of God'
 447  I,      XII   |            bestow upon us in charity; verily, God rewards the charitable.'~ ~
 448  I,      XII   |             been gracious towards us. Verily, whoso fears God and is
 449  I,      XII   |             fears God and is patient,-verily, God wastes not the hire
 450  I,      XII   |         departed, their father said, 'Verily, I find the smell of Joseph,
 451  I,      XII   |            pardon for us of our sins;-verily, we were sinners!'~ ~He
 452  I,      XII   |          pardon for you from my Lord; verily, He is the pardoning and
 453  I,      XII   |           between me and my brethren;-verily, my Lord is kind to whomsoever
 454  I,      XII   |           kind to whomsoever He will;-verily, He is the knowing, the
 455  I,     XIII   |              the night cover the day;-verily, in that are signs unto
 456  I,     XIII   |               over the other as food;-verily, in that are signs unto
 457  I,     XIII   | notwithstanding their injustice; but, verily, thy Lord is keen to punish.~ ~
 458  I,     XIII   |            him at the command of God; verily, God changes not what a
 459  I,      XIV   |           them of the days 1 of God!' verily, in that are signs to every
 460  I,      XIV   |       increase; but if ye misbelieve, verily, my torment is severe!'
 461  I,      XIV   |            the earth altogether-then, verily, God is rich, and to be
 462  I,      XIV   |             their mouths 2 and said, 'Verily, we disbelieve in that which
 463  I,      XIV   |               the affair is decided, 'Verily, God promised you a promise
 464  I,      XIV   |     associating me (with God) before; verily, the wrong-doers, for them
 465  I,      XIV   |                Enjoy yourselves, for, verily, your journey is to the
 466  I,      XIV   |        favours, ye cannot count them;-verily, man is very unjust and
 467  I,      XIV   |             serving idols!~ ~My Lord, verily, they have led many men
 468  I,      XIV   |                but he who follows me, verily, he is of me; but he who
 469  I,      XIV   |             he who rebels against me,-verily, thou art pardoning, merciful!~ ~ ./. 
 470  I,      XIV   |                      40] 'O our Lord! verily, I have made some of my
 471  I,      XIV   |           give thanks.~ ~'O our Lord! verily, Thou knowest what we hide
 472  I,      XIV   |               age, Ishmael and Isaac!-verily, my Lord surely hears prayer.~ ~'
 473  I,      XIV   |              promise to his apostles;-verily, God is mighty, the Lord
 474  I,      XIV   |      according to what it has earned; verily, God is swift at reckoning
 475  I,       XV   |          Reminder has been sent down! verily, thou art possessed. Why
 476  I,       XV   |            would these be respited.~ ~Verily, we have sent down the Reminder,
 477  I,       XV   |               down the Reminder, and, verily, we will guard it.~ ~[;o]
 478  I,       XV   |            who store it up.~ ~And we, verily, we quicken and kill; and
 479  I,       XV   |             laggards too!~ ~[25] And, verily, it is your Lord who will
 480  I,       XV   |             Lord who will gather you; verily, He is wise and knowing.~ ~
 481  I,       XV   |              Lord said to the angels, Verily, I am creating a mortal
 482  I,       XV   |            thee forth therefrom, and, verily, thou art to be pelted! [
 483  I,       XV   |               to be pelted! [35] And, verily, the curse is upon thee
 484  I,       XV   |              raised.' He said, 'Then, verily, thou art of the respited
 485  I,       XV   |               a right way against me. Verily, my servants thou hast no
 486  I,       XV   |             such as are seduced: and, verily, hell is promised to them
 487  I,       XV   |       separate party of them.'~ ~[45] Verily, those who fear God shall
 488  I,       XV   |              said, 'Peace!' he said, 'Verily, we are afraid of you.'
 489  I,       XV   |            They said, 'Be not afraid! verily, we give thee glad tidings
 490  I,       XV   |              messengers?' They said, 'Verily, we are sent unto a sinful
 491  I,       XV   |            his wife; we have decreed, verily, she shall be of those who
 492  I,       XV   |               Lot's family, he said, 'Verily, ye are a people whom I
 493  I,       XV   |          brought thee the truth, and, verily, we speak the truth! [65]
 494  I,       XV   |             at the tidings. Said he, 'Verily, these are my guests, therefore
 495  I,       XV   |              ye must.'-By thy life 1! verily, they were surely in their
 496  I,       XV   |            stones of baked clay. [75] Verily, in that is a sign to those
 497  I,       XV   |               to those who mark. And, verily, the (cities) are on a path
 498  I,       XV   |            path that still remains 2. Verily, in that is a sign to the
 499  I,       XV   |               vengeance on them, and, verily, they both 4 are for an
 500  I,       XV   |             both, save in truth. And, verily, the Hour is surely coming;
 501  I,       XV   |          pardon with a fair pardon.~ ~Verily, thy Lord He is the creator,
 502  I,       XV   |              the believers, and say, 'Verily, I am an obvious warner.'~ ~[
 503  I,       XV   |            from the idolaters.~ ~[95] Verily, we are enough for thee
 504  I,      XVI   |           great wretchedness of soul;-verily, your Lord is kind and merciful.~ ~
 505  I,      XVI   |              and some of every fruit;-verily, in that is a sign unto
 506  I,      XVI   |             subjected to His bidding. Verily, in that are signs to a
 507  I,      XVI   |             the earth varying in hue, verily, in that is a sign for a
 508  I,      XVI   |            God, ye cannot count them. Verily, God is forgiving; merciful.~ ~
 509  I,      XVI   |             what ye, disclose!~ ~[25] Verily, He does not love those
 510  I,      XVI   |       knowledge is brought will say, 'Verily, disgrace to-day, and evil
 511  I,      XVI   |           have done no evil.' - 'Yea! verily, God knows what ye did.
 512  I,      XVI   |             eager for their guidance, verily, God guides not those who
 513  I,      XVI   |             gradual destruction? for, verily, your Lord is kind, merciful.~ ~[
 514  I,      XVI   |              theirs is the Fire, for, verily, they shall be sent on there!~ ~[
 515  I,      XVI   |            the earth after its death; verily, in that is a sign to a
 516  I,      XVI   |              a people who can hear.~ ~Verily, ye have in cattle a lesson;
 517  I,      XVI   |               and a goodly provision; verily, in that is a sign to a
 518  I,      XVI   |              which is a cure for men; verily, in that are signs unto
 519  I,      XVI   |              aught that once he knew. Verily, God is knowing, powerful.~ ~
 520  I,      XVI   |          strike out parables for God! Verily, God knows, but ye do not
 521  I,      XVI   |              an eye, or nigher still! Verily, God is mighty over all!~ ~[
 522  I,      XVI   |           none holds them in but God: verily, in that is a sign unto
 523  I,      XVI   |             proffer them the speech, 'Verily, ye are liars!' And they
 524  I,      XVI   |           tidings to the believers.~ ~Verily, God bids you do justice
 525  I,      XVI   |         thereby make God your surety; verily, God knows what ye do.~ ~
 526  I,      XVI   |             Satan the pelted one 1.~ ~Verily, he has no power over those
 527  I,      XVI   |             this is plain Arabic 4.~ ~Verily, those who believe not in
 528  I,      XVI   |              s life to the next;-but, verily, God guides not the unbelieving
 529  I,      XVI   |           will be the losers.~ ~Then, verily, thy Lord, to those who
 530  I,      XVI   |         strenuously and were patient,-verily, thy Lord after that will
 531  I,      XVI   |  transgressing, it is no sin for him: verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
 532  I,      XVI   |            forging against God a lie; verily, those who forge against
 533  I,      XVI   |           they wronged.~ ~[120] Then, verily, thy Lord to those who have
 534  I,      XVI   |           after that and done aright,-verily, thy Lord afterwards is
 535  I,      XVI   |             forgiving and merciful.~ ~Verily, Abraham was a high priest 2,
 536  I,      XVI   |               world good things; and, verily, in the next he will be
 537  I,      XVI   |             who dispute thereon; but, verily, thy Lord will judge~ ~ ./. 
 538  I,      XVI   |              them in the kindest way; verily, thy Lord He knows best
 539  I,      XVI   |           strait at their craftiness;-verily, God is with those who fear
 540 II,     XVII   |             to show him of our signs! verily, He both hears and looks.~ ~
 541 II,     XVII   |               with Noah (in the ark)! verily, he was a thankful servant!~ ~
 542 II,     XVII   |         Israel in the Book, 'Ye shall verily do evil in the earth twice 4,
 543 II,     XVII   |               for the mishelievers.~ ~Verily, this Qur'ân guides to the
 544 II,     XVII   |              if ye be righteous, and, verily, He is forgiving unto those
 545 II,     XVII   |              and straitened in means. Verily, thy Lord spreads out provision
 546 II,     XVII   |              will or He doles it out. Verily, He is ever well aware of
 547 II,     XVII   |              not near to fornication; verily, it is ever an abomination,
 548 II,     XVII   |            him not exceed in slaying; verily, he is ever helped.~ ~And
 549 II,     XVII   |             and fulfil your compacts; verily, a compact is ever enquired
 550 II,     XVII   |               thou hast no knowledge; verily, the hearing, the sight,
 551 II,     XVII   |             not on the earth proudly; verily, thou canst not cleave the
 552 II,     XVII   |        females from among the angels? verily, ye are speaking a mighty
 553 II,     XVII   |         understand their celebration;-verily, He is clement and forgiving.~ ~
 554 II,     XVII   |           they speak in a kind way 1; verily, Satan makes ill-will between
 555 II,     XVII   |          makes ill-will between them; verily, Satan was ever unto man
 556 II,     XVII   |            and they fear His torment; verily, the torment of thy Lord
 557 II,     XVII   |            And when we said to thee, 'Verily, thy Lord encompasses men!'
 558 II,     XVII   |               hast honoured above me, verily, if Thou shouldst respite
 559 II,     XVII   |               them naught but deceit. Verily, my servants, thou hast
 560 II,     XVII   |           seek after plenty from Him; verily, He is ever merciful to
 561 II,     XVII   |              the reading of the dawn; verily, the reading of the dawn
 562 II,     XVII   |               falsehood has vanished! verily, falsehood is transient.'~ ~
 563 II,     XVII   |             by a mercy from thy Lord; verily, His grace towards thee
 564 II,     XVII   |            enough between me and you; verily, He is ever of His servants
 565 II,     XVII   |             and Pharaoh said to him, 'Verily, I think thee, O Moses!
 566 II,     XVII   |          earth as visible signs; and, verily, I think thee, O Pharaoh!
 567 II,     XVII   |              therein, or believe not; verily, those who were given the
 568 II,     XVII   |           praises~ ~ ./. of our Lord! verily, the promise of our Lord
 569 II,    XVIII   |              forth from their mouths! verily, they only speak a lie!~ ~[
 570 II,    XVIII   |               in this new revelation. Verily, we have made what is on
 571 II,    XVIII   |           them is best in works; but, verily, we are going to make what
 572 II,    XVIII   |            thee their story in truth. Verily, they were youths who believed
 573 II,    XVIII   |             let any one perceive you. Verily, they-should they perceive
 574 II,    XVIII   |               never say of anything, 'Verily, I am going to do that to-morrow,'
 575 II,    XVIII   |            him who will, disbelieve.' Verily, we have prepared for the
 576 II,    XVIII   |            drink and an evil couch!~ ~Verily, those who believe and act
 577 II,    XVIII   |               believe and act aright,-verily, we will not waste the hire
 578 II,    XVIII   |               hands have done before? verily, we will place veils upon
 579 II,    XVIII   |           resorted to the rock, then, verily, I forgot the fish, but
 580 II,    XVIII   |             the right way?' said he, 'Verily, thou canst never have patience
 581 II,    XVIII   |             he, 'Did I not tell thee, verily, thou canst never have patience
 582 II,    XVIII   |             he, 'Did I not tell thee, verily, thou canst not have patience
 583 II,    XVIII   |              to you a mention of him; verily, we stablished for him in
 584 II,    XVIII   |              said, 'O DHu 'l Qarnâin! verily, Yâgûg and Mâgûg 1 are doing
 585 II,    XVIII   |       servants for patrons beside me? Verily, we have prepared hell for
 586 II,    XVIII   |              apostles as a mockery.~ ~Verily, those who believe and act
 587 II,      XIX   |           calling. Said he, 'My Lord! verily, my bones are weak, and

 591 II,      XIX   |            cradle a child?' He said, 'Verily, I am a servant of God;
 592 II,      XIX   |             it, 'BE,' and it is; and, verily, God is my Lord and your
 593 II,      XIX   |          while they do not believe.~ ~Verily, we will inherit the earth
 594 II,      XIX   |        mention, in the Book, Abraham; verily, he was a confessor,-a prophet.
 595 II,      XIX   |          avail thee aught? O my sire! verily, to me has come knowledge
 596 II,      XIX   |             my sire! serve not Satan; verily, Satan is ever a rebel against
 597 II,      XIX   |              the Merciful. O my sire! verily, I fear that there may touch
 598 II,      XIX   |              from my gods, O Abraham? verily, if thou dost not desist
 599 II,      XIX   |    forgiveness for thee from my Lord; verily, He is very gracious to
 600 II,      XIX   |          mention, in the Book, Moses; verily, he was sincere, and was
 601 II,      XIX   |        mention, in the Book, Ishmael; verily, he was true to his promise,
 602 II,      XIX   |        mention, in the Book, Idrîs 1; verily, he was a confessor,-a prophet;
 603 II,      XIX   |               servants in the unseen; verily, His promise ever comes
 604 II,      XIX   |             not thou hasty with them. Verily, we will number them a number (
 605 II,      XIX   |            resurrection day singly.~ ~Verily, those who believe and act
 606 II,       XX   |             public in thy speech-yet, verily, he knows the secret, and
 607 II,       XX   |             to his family, 'Tarry ye; verily, I perceive a fire! [10]
 608 II,       XX   |              was called to, 'O Moses! verily, I am thy Lord, so take
 609 II,       XX   |              so take off thy sandals; verily, thou art in the holy valley
 610 II,       XX   |             to what is inspired thee; verily, I am God, there is no god
 611 II,       XX   |               to remember Me.~ ~[15] 'Verily, the hour is coming, I almost
 612 II,       XX   |                 25] 'Go unto Pharaoh, verily, he is outrageous!'~ ~Said
 613 II,       XX   |           remember Thee much.~ ~[35] 'Verily, Thou dost ever behold us!'~ ~
 614 II,       XX   |                Go ye both to Pharaoh; verily, he is outrageous! and speak
 615 II,       XX   |             They two said, 'Our Lord! verily, we fear that he may trespass
 616 II,       XX   |                   He said, 'Fear not; verily, I am with you twain. I
 617 II,       XX   |              come ye to him and say, "Verily, we are the apostles of
 618 II,       XX   |        follows the guidance!~ ~[50] '"Verily, we are inspired that the
 619 II,       XX   |        pasture your cattle therefrom; verily, in that are signs to those
 620 II,       XX   |           devour what they have made. Verily, what they have made is
 621 II,       XX   |              before I give you leave? Verily, he is your master who taught
 622 II,       XX   |               the life of this world! Verily, we believe in our Lord,
 623 II,       XX   |           better and more lasting!'~ ~Verily, he who comes to his Lord
 624 II,       XX   |           comes to his Lord a sinner,-verily, for him is hell; he shall
 625 II,       XX   |              be pleased.'~ ~Said He, 'Verily, we have tried thy people,
 626 II,       XX   |             being tried thereby; and, verily, your Lord is the Merciful,
 627 II,       XX   |              by my beard, or my head! Verily, I feared lest thou shouldst
 628 II,       XX   |              he, 'Then get thee gone; verily, it shall be thine in life
 629 II,       XX   |                 Touch me not 1!" and, verily, for thee there is a threat
 630 II,       XX   |                Whoso turns therefrom, verily, he shall bear on the resurrection
 631 II,       XX   |        refused. And we said, 'O Adam! verily, this is a foe to thee and
 632 II,       XX   |             or thou wilt be wretched. Verily, thou hast not to be hungry
 633 II,       XX   |         hungry there, nor naked! and, verily, thou shalt not thirst therein,
 634 II,       XX   |          turns away from my reminder, verily, for him shall be a straitened
 635 II,       XX   |           their very dwelling-places; verily, in that are signs to those
 636 II,      XXI   |              Said they, 'O woe is us! verily, we were wrong-doers.'~ ~[
 637 II,      XXI   |            whoso of them should say, 'Verily, I am god instead of Him,'
 638 II,      XXI   |            surely say, 'O, woe is us! verily, we were wrong-doers!'~ ~
 639 II,      XXI   |              done this with our gods? verily, he is of the wrong-doers!'
 640 II,      XXI   |              to themselves and said, 'Verily, ye are the wrong-doers.'
 641 II,      XXI   |             which had done vile acts; verily, they were a people who
 642 II,      XXI   |             him enter into our mercy; verily, he was of the righteous!~ ~
 643 II,      XXI   |             said our signs were lies; verily,~ ~ ./. they were a bad
 644 II,      XXI   |            them enter into our mercy; verily, they were among the righteous.~ ~
 645 II,      XXI   |             celebrated be Thy praise! Verily, I was of the evildoers!'
 646 II,      XXI   |               his wife right for him; verily, these vied in good works,
 647 II,      XXI   |               a sign unto the worlds. Verily, this your nation 4 is one
 648 II,      XXI   |           denial of his efforts, for, verily, we will write them down
 649 II,      XXI   |                we were wrong-doers!~ ~Verily, ye, and what ye serve beside
 650 II,      XXI   |         therein shall not be heard.~ ~Verily, those for whom the good (
 651 II,      XXI   |              promise binding upon us; verily, we are going to do it.
 652 II,      XXI   |      righteous servants inherit 2,'~ ~Verily, in this is preaching for
 653 II,      XXI   |              be near or far!'~ ~[110] Verily, He knows what is spoken
 654 II,     XXII   |              ye folk! fear your Lord. Verily, the earthquake of the Hour
 655 II,     XXII   |               takes him for a patron, verily, he will lead him astray,
 656 II,     XXII   |            the raising (of the dead),-verily, we created you from earth,
 657 II,     XXII   |             lord and a bad comrade.~ ~Verily, God makes those who believe
 658 II,     XXII   |            beneath which rivers flow; verily, God does what He will.~ ~[
 659 II,     XXII   |            down manifest signs.; for, verily, God guides whom He will.~ ~
 660 II,     XXII   |            God guides whom He will.~ ~Verily, those who believe, and
 661 II,     XXII   |             join other gods with God, verily, God will decide between
 662 II,     XXII   |              on the resurrection day; verily, God is witness over all.~ ~
 663 II,     XXII   |          there is none to honour him; verily, God does what He pleases.~ ~[
 664 II,     XXII   |            torment of the burning!'~ ~Verily, God will make those who
 665 II,     XXII   |              the laudable way.~ ~[25] Verily, those who misbelieve and
 666 II,     XXII   |               to those who do good.~ ~Verily, God will defend those who
 667 II,     XXII   |             defend those who believe; verily, God loves not any misbelieving
 668 II,     XXII   |               have been wronged,-and, verily, God to help them has the
 669 II,     XXII   |               help him who helps Him; verily, God is powerful, mighty.~ ~
 670 II,     XXII   |             fail in his promise; for, verily, a day with thy Lord is
 671 II,     XXII   |           whose hearts are hard; and, verily, the wrong-doers are in
 672 II,     XXII   |             hearts may be lowly; for, verily, God surely will guide those
 673 II,     XXII(1)|             high-soaring cranes, and, verily, their intercession may
 674 II,     XXII   |              a goodly provision; for, verily, God is the best of providers.~ ~
 675 II,     XXII   |         entrance that they like; for, verily, God is knowing, element.~ ~
 676 II,     XXII   |            God shall surely help him; verily, God pardons, forgives.~ ~[
 677 II,     XXII   |            morrow the earth is green? verily, God is kind and well aware.~ ~
 678 II,     XXII   |            what is in the earth; and, verily, God is rich and to be praised.~ ~
 679 II,     XXII   |          earth save at His bidding 1? verily, God to men is gracious,
 680 II,     XXII   |               but call upon thy Lord; verily, thou art surely in a right
 681 II,     XXII   |            the heavens and the earth? verily, that is in a book; verily,
 682 II,     XXII   |            verily, that is in a book; verily, that for God is easy.~ ~[
 683 II,     XXII   |             for you, so listen to it. Verily, those on whom ye call beside
 684 II,     XXII   |          value God at His true value; verily, God is powerful, mighty.~ ~
 685 II,     XXII   |             of the angels and of men; verily, God hears and sees. [75]
 686 II,    XXIII   |               hands possess for then, verily, they are not to be blamed;-
 687 II,    XXIII   |               rest in the earth; but, verily, we are able to take it
 688 II,    XXIII   |             for those who eat.~ ~And, verily, ye have a lesson in the
 689 II,    XXIII   |               for those who do wrong, verily, they are to be drowned!~ ~
 690 II,    XXIII   |            who cause men to alight!"' Verily, in that is a sign, and,
 691 II,    XXIII   |               in that is a sign, and, verily, we were trying them.~ ~
 692 II,    XXIII   |               mortal like yourselves, verily, ye will then be surely
 693 II,    XXIII   |             good things and do right; verily, what ye do I know!~ ~And,
 694 II,    XXIII   |             what ye do I know!~ ~And, verily, this nation 1 of yours
 695 II,    XXIII   |               they do not perceive!~ ~Verily, those who shrink with terror
 696 II,    XXIII   |               Cry not for aid to-day! verily, against us ye will not
 697 II,    XXIII   |              who provide.~ ~[75] And, verily, thou dost call them to
 698 II,    XXIII   |             them to a right way; but, verily, those who believe not in
 699 II,    XXIII   |          brought them the truth, but, verily, they are liars!~ ~God never
 700 II,    XXIII   |               and speak not to me!'~ ~Verily, there was a sect of my
 701 II,    XXIII   |       reminder and did laugh thereat. Verily, I have recompensed them
 702 II,    XXIII   |               day for their patience; verily, they are happy now.~ ~He
 703 II,    XXIII   |              has no proof of it, but, verily, his account is with his
 704 II,    XXIII   |             account is with his Lord; verily, the misbelievers shall
 705 II,     XXIV   |             that and act aright, for, verily, God is forgiving and compassionate.~ ~
 706 II,     XXIV   |             relenting, wise . . . 1~ ~Verily, those who bring forward
 707 II,     XXIV   |               God is knowing, wise.~ ~Verily, those who love that scandal
 708 II,     XXIV   |               the footsteps of Satan, verily, he bids you sin and do
 709 II,     XXIV   |      forgiving, compassionate.~ ~ ./. Verily, those who cast imputations
 710 II,     XXIV   |               that is purer for them; verily, God is well aware of what
 711 II,     XXIV   |               does compel them, then, verily, God after they are compelled
 712 II,     XXIV   |   interchanges the night and the day; verily, in that is a lesson to
 713 II,     XXIV   |              creates what He pleases; verily, God is mighty over all!~ ~[
 714 II,     XXIV   |               reasonable obedience 1; verily, God knows what ye do.'~ ~
 715 II,     XXIV   |            they have asked his leave; verily, those who ask thy leave
 716 II,     XXIV   |               pardon for them of God; verily, God is forgiving and merciful.~ ~
 717 II,      XXV   |               heavens. and the earth; verily, He is ever forgiving, merciful!'~ ~
 718 II,      XXV   |             Apostle said, 'O my Lord! verily, my people have taken this
 719 II,      XXV   |               us the torment of hell; verily, its torments are persistent;
 720 II,      XXV   |              torments are persistent; verily, they are evil as an abode
 721 II,      XXV   |           turns again and does right, verily, he turns again to God repentant.~ ~
 722 II,     XXVI   |          therein of every noble kind? verily, in that is a sign; but
 723 II,     XXVI   |              never be believers! but, verily, thy Lord He is mighty and
 724 II,     XXVI   |             fear?' Said he, 'My Lord! verily, I fear that they will call
 725 II,     XXVI   |                but go with our signs, verily, we are with you listening.~ ~[
 726 II,     XXVI   |               go to Pharaoh and say, "Verily, we are the apostles of
 727 II,     XXVI   |         fathers of yore!'~ ~Said he, 'Verily, your apostle who is sent
 728 II,     XXVI   |               the chiefs around him, 'Verily, this is a knowing sorcerer,
 729 II,     XXVI   |           said to Pharaoh, 'Shall we, verily, have a hire if we gain
 730 II,     XXVI   |            hand?' Said he, 'Yes; and, verily, ye shall then be of those
 731 II,     XXVI   |            said, 'By Pharaoh's might, verily, we it is who shall gain
 732 II,     XXVI   |             Him ere I give you leave? Verily, he is your chief who has
 733 II,     XXVI   |              50] They said, 'No harm; verily, unto our Lord do we return!
 734 II,     XXVI   |           unto our Lord do we return! verily, we hope that our Lord will
 735 II,     XXVI   |               night with my servants; verily, ye are pursued.'~ ~And
 736 II,     XXVI   |           into the cities to collect; Verily, these are a small company. [
 737 II,     XXVI   |              small company. [55] And, verily, they are enraged with us;
 738 II,     XXVI   |              Moses' companions said, 'Verily, we are overtaken!' Said
 739 II,     XXVI   |         overtaken!' Said he, 'Not so; verily, with me is my Lord, He
 740 II,     XXVI   |              never be believers! And, verily, thy Lord He is mighty,
 741 II,     XXVI   |              your fathers before you? Verily, they are foes to me, save
 742 II,     XXVI   |       pleasure; and pardon my father, verily, he is of those who err;
 743 II,     XXVI   |          would be of the believers."'-Verily, in that is a sign, but
 744 II,     XXVI   |              never be believers; and, verily, thy Lord He is mighty and
 745 II,     XXVI   |              them, 'Will ye not fear? verily, I am a faithful apostle
 746 II,     XXVI   |          plain warner.'~ ~They said, 'Verily, if thou desist not, O Noah!
 747 II,     XXVI   |           stoned!' Said he, 'My Lord! verily, my people call me liar;
 748 II,     XXVI   |             then we drowned the rest; verily, in that is a sign, but
 749 II,     XXVI   |              never be believers; and, verily, thy Lord He is mighty and
 750 II,     XXVI   |               Will ye not fear? [125] Verily, I am to you a faithful
 751 II,     XXVI   |            gardens and springs. [135] Verily, I fear for you the torment
 752 II,     XXVI   |                but we destroyed them. Verily, in that is a sign, but
 753 II,     XXVI   |              be believers. [140] And, verily, thy Lord is mighty, merciful.~ ~
 754 II,     XXVI   |             to them, 'Do ye not fear? verily, I am to you a faithful
 755 II,     XXVI   |              the torment seized them; verily, in that is a sign; but
 756 II,     XXVI   |               never be believers: but verily, thy Lord He is mighty,
 757 II,     XXVI   |             to them, 'Do ye not fear? verily, I am to you a faithful
 758 II,     XXVI   |            are expelled!'~ ~Said he, 'Verily, I am of those who hate
 759 II,     XXVI   |             of those who were warned. Verily, in that is a sign; but
 760 II,     XXVI   |              be believers. [175] And, verily, thy Lord He is mighty,
 761 II,     XXVI   |              them, 'Will ye not fear? verily, I am to you a faithful
 762 II,     XXVI   |           mortal like ourselves; and, verily, we think that thou art
 763 II,     XXVI   |        torment of a mighty day: [190] verily, in that is a sign; but~ ~ ./. 
 764 II,     XXVI   |              never be believers; but, verily, thy Lord He is mighty,
 765 II,     XXVI   |              mighty, merciful!~ ~And, verily, it 1 is a revelation from
 766 II,     XXVI   |           plain Arabic language, and, verily, it is (foretold) in the
 767 II,     XXVI   |               are they able to do it. Verily, they are deposed from listening  5;
 768 II,     XXVI   |             rebel against thee, say, 'Verily, I am clear of what ye~ ~ ./. 
 769 II,     XXVI   |              those who adore 1. [220] Verily, He both hears and knows!~ ~
 770 II,    XXVII   |               the hereafter are sure; verily, those who believe not in
 771 II,    XXVII   |               be those who most lose! Verily, thou dost meet with this
 772 II,    XXVII   |            Moses said to his people, 'Verily, I perceive a fire, I will
 773 II,    XXVII   |               of the worlds! O Moses! verily, I am God, the mighty, wise; [
 774 II,    XXVII   |           return. 'O Moses! fear not; verily, as for me-apostles fear
 775 II,    XXVII   |        substitute good for evil; for, verily, I am forgiving, merciful!
 776 II,    XXVII   |               Pharaoh and his people; verily, they are a people who act
 777 II,    XXVII   |           have been given everything; verily, this is an obvious grace!'~ ~ ./. 
 778 II,    XXVII   |            Sebâ 1 a sure information: verily, I found a woman ruling
 779 II,    XXVII   |               Said she, 'O ye chiefs! verily, a noble letter has been
 780 II,    XXVII   |              It is from Solomon, and, verily, it is, "In the name of
 781 II,    XXVII   |               wilt bid.'~ ~She said, 'Verily, kings when they enter a
 782 II,    XXVII   |               it is they do! [35] So, verily, I am going to send to them
 783 II,    XXVII   |             and he who is ungrateful,-verily, my Lord is rich and generous.'~ ~
 784 II,    XXVII   |           beside God turned her away; verily, she was of the unbelieving
 785 II,    XXVII   |         uncovered her legs. Said he, 'Verily, it is a court paved with
 786 II,    XXVII   |               45] Said she, 'My Lord! verily, I have wronged myself,
 787 II,    XXVII   |            for that they were unjust; verily, in that is a sign to people
 788 II,    XXVII   |              s family from your city! verily, they are a folk who would
 789 II,    XXVII   |           would hasten on!' [75] But, verily, thy Lord is full of~ ~ ./. 
 790 II,    XXVII   |            will not be thankful; and, verily, thy Lord knows what their
 791 II,    XXVII   |               the perspicuous Book!~ ~Verily, this Qur'ân relates to
 792 II,    XXVII   |         whereon they do dispute; and, verily, it is a guidance and a
 793 II,    XXVII   |          mercy to the believers. [80] Verily, thy Lord decides between
 794 II,    XXVII   |              Rely thou then upon God, verily, thou art standing on obvious
 795 II,    XXVII   |            standing on obvious truth. Verily, thou canst not make the
 796 II,    XXVII   |                and the day to see by? verily, in that are signs to people
 797 II,    XXVII   |            God who orders all things; verily, He is well aware of what
 798 II,   XXVIII   |               a people who believe.~ ~Verily, Pharaoh was lofty in the
 799 II,   XXVIII   |             letting their women live. Verily, he was of the despoilers.~ ~ ./. 
 800 II,   XXVIII   |              fear not and grieve not; verily, we are going to restore
 801 II,   XXVIII   |               them a foe and a grief; verily, Pharaoh and Hâmân and their
 802 II,   XXVIII   |              is of the work of Satan, verily, he is a misleading obvious
 803 II,   XXVIII   |                15] Said he, 'My Lord! verily, I have wronged my soul,
 804 II,   XXVIII   |              aid. Said Moses to him, 'Verily, thou art obviously quarrelsome.'
 805 II,   XXVIII   |          running, said he, 'O Moses!' verily, the chiefs are deliberating
 806 II,   XXVIII   |                  thee; go then forth; verily, I am to you a sincere adviser!'~ ~[
 807 II,   XXVIII   |             shade and said, 'My Lord! verily, I stand in need of what
 808 II,   XXVIII   |          walking modestly; said she, 'Verily; my father calls thee, to
 809 II,   XXVIII   |           them, 'O my sire! hire him; verily, the best of those whom
 810 II,   XXVIII   |            and faithful.'~ ~Said he, 'Verily, I desire to marry thee
 811 II,   XXVIII   |               people, 'Tarry ye here; verily, I have perceived a fire,
 812 II,   XXVIII   |            out of the tree, 'O Moses! verily, I am God the Lord of the
 813 II,   XXVIII   |                approach and fear not, verily, thou art amongst the safe.
 814 II,   XXVIII   |               Pharaoh and his chiefs; verily, they are a people who work
 815 II,   XXVIII   |    abomination!'~ ~Said he, 'My Lord! verily, I have killed a person
 816 II,   XXVIII   |              a support, to verify me; verily, I fear that they will call
 817 II,   XXVIII   |               the issue of the abode. Verily, the unjust shall not prosper!'~ ~
 818 II,   XXVIII   |             to the God of Moses; for, verily, I think he is of those
 819 II,   XXVIII   |           each other;' and they say, 'Verily, we do disbelieve in all.'~ ~
 820 II,   XXVIII   |            without guidance from God? verily, God guides not an unjust
 821 II,   XXVIII   |               as truth from our Lord; verily, we were resigned before
 822 II,   XXVIII   |             not seek the ignorant!'~ ~Verily, thou canst not guide whom
 823 II,   XXVIII   |               stray away from them.~ ~Verily, Korah 1 was of the people
 824 II,   XXVIII   |              said to him, 'Exult not; verily, God loves not those who
 825 II,   XXVIII   |              evil doing in the earth; verily, God loves not the evildoers!'~ ~
 826 II,   XXVIII   |            what Korah has been given! verily, he is endowed with mighty
 827 II,   XXVIII   |            which they have done. [85] Verily, He who hath ordained the
 828 II,     XXIX   |               for the meeting of God,-verily, God's appointed time will
 829 II,     XXIX   |    strenuously only for his own soul; verily, God is independent of the
 830 II,     XXIX   |              thy Lord they will say, 'Verily, we were with you!' does
 831 II,     XXIX   |               bear their sins at all; verily, they are liars! But they
 832 II,     XXIX   |            idols and do create a lie; verily, those whom ye serve beside
 833 II,     XXIX   |               and then turns it back? verily, that to God is easy.~ ~
 834 II,     XXIX   |          produces another production: verily, God is mighty over all!'~ ~[
 835 II,     XXIX   |             him from~ ~ ./. the fire; verily, in that are signs unto
 836 II,     XXIX   |              who believe.~ ~He said, 'Verily, ye take beside God idols,
 837 II,     XXIX   |             him. And (Abraham) said, 'Verily, I flee unto my Lord! Verily,
 838 II,     XXIX   |          Verily, I flee unto my Lord! Verily, He is mighty, wise! and
 839 II,     XXIX   |              hire in this world; and, verily, he in the next shall be
 840 II,     XXIX   |               he said to his people, 'Verily, ye approach an abomination
 841 II,     XXIX   |              the people of this city. Verily, the people thereof are
 842 II,     XXIX   |             wrong-doers.'~ ~Said he, 'Verily, in it is Lot;' they said, '
 843 II,     XXIX   |               is of those who linger. Verily, we~ ~ ./. are about to
 844 II,     XXIX   |              to himself a house; and, verily, the weakest of houses is
 845 II,     XXIX   |               if they did but know!~ ~Verily, God knows whatever thing
 846 II,     XXIX   |               and the earth in truth; verily, in this is a sign unto
 847 II,     XXIX   |               be steadfast in prayer; verily, prayer forbids sin and
 848 II,     XXIX   |              from his Lord - ;' say, 'Verily, signs are with God, and,
 849 II,     XXIX   |              signs are with God, and, verily, I am an obvious warner!'~ ~[
 850 II,     XXIX   |             thou dost recite to them? verily, in that is a mercy and
 851 II,     XXIX   |            hurry on the torment, but, verily, hell encompasses the misbelievers!~ ~[
 852 II,     XXIX   |              my servants who believe! verily, my land is spacious enough 1;
 853 II,     XXIX   |               or doles it out to him; verily, God all things doth know.~ ~
 854 II,     XXIX   |              a sport and a play; but, verily, the abode of the next world,
 855 II,     XXIX   |               them into our way, for, verily, God is with those who do
 856 II,      XXX   |              and appointed time? but, verily, many men in the meeting
 857 II,      XXX   |               you affection and pity. Verily, in that are signs unto
 858 II,      XXX   |             your tongues and colours; verily, in that are signs unto
 859 II,      XXX   |              craving after His grace. Verily, in that are signs unto
 860 II,      XXX   |            the earth after its death; verily, in that are signs unto
 861 II,      XXX   |             pleases, or doles it out? verily, in that are signs unto
 862 II,      XXX   |            and do right of His grace; verily, He loves not the misbelievers!~ ~[
 863 II,      XXX   |            the earth after its death; verily, that is the quickener of
 864 II,      XXX   |           become misbelievers.~ ~But, verily, thou canst not make the
 865 II,      XXX   |             60] Be thou patient then; verily, God's promise is true!
 866 II,     XXXI   |            tidings of grievous woe!~ ~Verily, those who believe and do
 867 II,     XXXI   |         associate none with God, for, verily, such association is a mighty

 873 II,     XXXI   |            them of what they do;-for, verily, God knows the nature of
 874 II,     XXXI   |             and what is in the earth; verily, God, He is the independent,
 875 II,     XXXI   |               God would not be spent; verily, God is mighty, wise!~ ~
 876 II,     XXXI   |              but as that of one soul; verily, God both hears and sees!~ ~
 877 II,     XXXI   |            may show you of His signs? verily, in that are signs to every
 878 II,     XXXI   |          aught for its parent.~ ~ ./. Verily, the promise of God is true!
 879 II,     XXXI   |        beguile you concerning God.'~ ~Verily, God, with Him is the knowledge

 892 II,   XXXIII   |           signs of God and of wisdom; verily, God is subtle and aware!~ ~[

 894 II,   XXXIII   |               hire.~ ~O thou prophet! verily, we have sent thee as a

 906 II,   XXXIII   |              men and believing women; verily, God is ever forgiving,
 907 II,    XXXIV   |              a portion of the heaven; verily, in that is a sign to every
 908 II,    XXXIV   |          rings thereof, and do right; verily, I at what ye do do look.'
 909 II,    XXXIV   |              tore them all to pieces; verily, in that are signs to every
 910 II,    XXXIV   |              earth?' Say, 'God.' And, verily, we or ye are surely in
 911 II,    XXXIV   |              tormented.'~ ~[35] Say, 'Verily, my Lord extends provision
