Eclogue

I| might repose with me,~On green leaves pillowed: apples
1| the cooling shade~And the green lizard hides him in the
1| down the stags, or with green osier-wand~Round up the
III| tree;~Now is the forest green, and now the year~At fairest.
   V| what late I carved~On a green beech-tree’s rind, playing
VI| Following the herd, or by green pasture lured,~Some kine
VII| soft than sleep,~And arbute green with thin shade sheltering
VII| should my Phyllis come,~Green will be all the grove, and
VIII| sinks wearied out~On the green sedge beside a stream, love-lorn,~
X| grows hour by hour,~As the green alder shoots in early Spring.~
